碩士 / 國立高雄餐旅大學 / 餐旅研究所 / 107 / The purpose of this research aims to analyze the key stages of reserved teachers’ career transition in Food and Beverages Management Department of practical high school. The research objectives are as follows: Firstly, the researcher finds it important to have a deeper understanding of reserved teachers’ teaching motivation in Food and Beverages Management Department of technical high school. Secondly, it is essential to comprehend reserved teachers’ pressure at workplace in Food and Beverages Management Department of vocational high school. Thirdly, perceiving the mental process of reserved teachers’ career transformation in Food and Beverages Management Department of practical high school is inevitable for the research. Fourthly, the key factors affecting the reserved teachers’ career move from vocational Food and Beverages Management Department to the field of non-educational workplaces are analyzed. Fifthly, the data of reserved teachers’ future career planning in vocational Food and Beverages Management Department is provided as a reference to the related field of reserved teachers, school administrative units, and future researchers. In details, this research was implemented by the in-depth interview with 10 participants who were national qualified vocational Food and Beverages Management teachers selected by purposive sampling. The research findings analyzed by qualitative research are listed below: Initially, the ‘parental expectation’ fosters the willingness of reserved teachers in vocational Food and Beverages Management Department to involve in the path to teacher career. Furthermore, the key driver of involving in the teacher career for the participants is the ‘well-paid and stable welfare system’. Moreover, ‘the pressure to get along with students’ and ‘the pressure of working long hours’ are the main sources of stress in the teaching process. In addition, the differences in personality traits and personal interests vary the processes of participants’ career transition. Further, the influence of the ‘family factor’ is the main motivation for the turnover of participating in Food and Beverages Management Department of a vocational high school. Additionally, ‘Personal expertise’ is the decisive factor affecting the participants’ future career planning.
