Motion Poster Design of Taiwanese Folk Festival / 台灣民俗祭典之動態海報創作研究

碩士 / 國立高雄師範大學 / 視覺設計學系 / 107 / Taiwanese folk festivals are invaluable cultural treasure, which have been developed over many years and passed down by generations and become crucial cultural spirits. They are the presentations of ancestors’ wisdoms and experiences. Taiwanese folk festivals are the representative of historical events in each local area. Thus, they become the common cultural memories of the locals. As time goes by, these Taiwanese folk festivals are very new and unfamiliar for the young generations such as millennials. They are not familiar with the festivals like the older generations who have heard more often and even attended the festivals many times in person. As a Taiwanese visual designer, the researcher hopes contribute her professional strength promoting these invaluable Taiwanese folk festivals to the younger generations. In recent years, Tourism Bureau has been endeavored to promote traveling in Taiwan with local festivals. Therefore, the researcher does the design in the name of Tourism Bureau to advertise the beauty of Taiwanese folk festivals. the researcher intends to design it as the form of motion posters; in this way, not only can motion posters stand out among static posters, but also rapidly catch audience’s attention and conveying messages faster comparing to longer films and animations.
During the research, the researcher has deeper understanding to Taiwanese traditional culture. In the thesis, document analysis is adopted to analyze the motion-poster-related papers. The researcher makes lists of the analysis table of Taiwanese folk festivals elements by adopting the theories of semiology; analyzing the cases of motion posters and recent static posters of Taiwanese folk festivals collected. During the case study, the similarities and differences between motion posters and static posters are compared, and the advantages of motion posters are listed. Last but not least, the researcher selects some elements in the analysis table and puts them into posters and makes them animate, in order to reinterpret the Taiwanese folk festivals to attract young generations, even bring these to the international stage.
