碩士 / 國立高雄科技大學 / 航運管理系 / 107 / This study aims to examine the relationships among family supportive organizational culture on emotional labor, job stress and turnover intention for Taiwanese ocean freight forwarders. Data of this study were collected via a questionnaire survey. Deriving from the results of exploratory factor analysis, two factors, namely, “deep acting” and “surface acting” were identified to measure emotional labor. With respect to job stress, four factors were identified, namely, “interpersonal conflict pressure”, “workload pressure”, “supervisor pressure”, and “communication pressure”.
A multiple regression analysis was consequently performed to test research hypotheses. Regression analysis results indicated that family supportive organizational culture was found to have a positive impact on employees’ emotional labor of deep acting, whereas negative impacts were found on the emotional labor of surface acting, job stress and turnover intention for Taiwanese ocean freight forwarders. With regard emotional labor, results showed that emotional labor of deep acting was found to have a negative effect on employees’ turnover intention, whereas the impact on job stress was not significant. On the other hand, emotional labor of surface acting was found to have positive impacts on employees’ job stress and turnover intention for Taiwanese ocean freight forwarders. Finally, results also indicated that employees’ job stress had a partial positive impact on turnover intention.
