Study on the Motions of a Trimaran in Waves / 三體船於波浪中運動之研究

碩士 / 國立高雄科技大學 / 造船及海洋工程系 / 107 / This study used the hydrodynamic simulation software Flow-3D to simulate ship motions by the hydrodynamic forces on the trimaran ship advancing waves in the turbulent flow. First, the ship models were constructed by using a computer aided design (CAD) tool. Repair the line drawing of ship then establish a model with Rhinoceros and set up the numerical tank and some important parameters such as the speed of the ship model, the cycle of waves and the navigation time are investigated with Flow-3D.
The fluid considered here are assumed to be irrotational, incompressible and concern the viscosity and the effect of water surface tension, simulate the ship at Froude number Fn=0.15、0.30、0.45, with the different wave headings, the motions about Heaving、Pitching and Rolling on the small waves. To go a step further discuss the motions about different side-hull arrangements.
From the comparisons of the theory and experiment, we find this method is glad except for a slight difference between the Froude number Fn=0.30, L∕l = 1.0 to1.5. From the results, adding fluid viscosity is necessary when the ship at high speed, otherwise at the state of low speed and low frequency showed no difference. Change the side-hull arrangements of longitudinal, we know the side-hull close to the position of amidship is better on the ship motions about Rolling, and little affect in Heaving. On the other hand, side-hull close to the main hull is better at the horizontal.
