Exploring the comprehensive national strength of a country, the number of famous multinational corporations are also a reference indicator. Since the 21st century, Chinese government has carried out a global market actively, Chinese government is not only attaching importance to foreign direct investment, but also attaching importance to encouraging Chinese enterprises to “Going Global” for foreign investment.
The research of this paper is a transnational Chinese enterprise, including state-owned enterprises and private enterprises. China has made rapid progress in foreign direct investment in recent years, especially in Kazakhstan, and has played a crucial role in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is rich in natural resources. In terms of resources and industrial structure, China and Kazakhstan have strong complementarities, so China''s direct investment in Kazakhstan is a bright future. From the perspective of industrial distribution, Chinese companies invests in the field of petroleum energy by acquisition or equity participation. This chapter analyzes the foreign direct investment of Chinese state-owned enterprises in Kazakhstan, and takes China National Petroleum Corporation acquisition of PetroKazakhstan as an example to explore the problems and achievements of Chinese state-owned enterprises investment in Kazakhstan.
The largest M&A of Chinese private enterprises in the cultural industry was the acquisition of AMC by Wanda Group in 2011. This merger has attracted worldwide attention and has far-reaching influence. After this merger, the AMC Entertainment turned a profit, and Wanda Group became the world''s largest cinema chain operator, the reason is worth exploring.
Through two case studies, based on the research of the predecessors, the author explores the overseas direct investment mergers and acquisitions of Chinese state-owned enterprises and private enterprises.
