碩士 / 國立中山大學 / 企業管理學系研究所 / 107 / The shipping industry is a highly capital-intensive industry with high operational risks and is closely related to the global economy. Improper management will result in huge losses or even bankruptcy. Therefore, how to master the market changes, develope appropriate strategies, and cooperate with correct actions to achieve the predetermined performance is the primary goal of the shipping company.
In the past, most companies used financial figures as the primary criterion for performance measurement. However, financial figures often only show the results of past actions of enterprises. They are backward indicators. This study actively seeks to surpass financial results by concepts of balanced Scorecard. Leading key indicators, such as customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, employee training, and the number of off-hire days, identify important factors that will make future financial performance more excellent.
As this case bulk shipping A corporation has not yet established a complete business performance evaluation system. This study will explore the application of the Balanced Scorecard and use the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to identify key factors and indicators that can provide information for the case company.
