碩士 / 國立臺中教育大學 / 管理學院國際經營管理碩士在職專班 / 107 / Freediving has become a popular activity for the younger generation nowadays. The purpose of this study is to explore and examine the relationships among participation motivation, enduring involvement, and specialization of the freediving participants. Freediving participants from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China were invited to participate in this study. A total of 570 questionnaires were collected. The results of this study indicate that “personal challenge” is the highest scored dimension and “superiority” is the lowest dimension for the participation motivation. Furthermore, “attraction” is the highest scored dimension and “self expression” is the lowest scored dimension for the enduring involvement. Moreover, “lifestyle” dimension for the specialization is scored over the neutral point. Participation motivation has a positive and significant effect on the enduring involvement. Enduring involvement has a positive effect on the specialization. Participation motivation also has a positive effect on the specialization via the mediating effect of enduring involvement.
