碩士 / 國立臺灣師範大學 / 臺灣史研究所 / 107 / The study attempts to clarify the changes of fishery development and fish market in the island and Dongshi of Taiwan under the globalization. And by observing how the fishery affects the development of the fish market, and through the fish market to see the plight of local fishing villages.

As opposed to previous studies, this study constructs the development of rural society in the Dongshi area from the point of view of fish marketing in fisheries products. Through the development and transformation of the Dongshi fishery and the Dongshi Fish Market, we can understand the impact of the national fisheries policy on the local fishing villages.

Secondly, this study collects various roles in the fish market, including interviews with fishermen, traffickers, retailers, decision makers and many other roles, in order to make up for the lack of information from the archival data to explore the full picture of local fisheries.

Small fishing villages such as Dongshi, whose fisheries development is deeply affected by fisheries policy, and the development of fishery will affect the fish market and change the way of fish marketing. With the example of the Dongshi Fish Market, the local small fish market has developed different sales ways to maintain its operation and adapted to the declining environment of the fishery.

But the Dongshi Fish Market is not only to change the fish marketing environment, but also to establish the connection between the fish market and the local society, to give you a space for emotional communication. If the fish market establishes its characteristics and develops multiple functions, it will be possible for the fish market to continue to operate.
