Vehicle Assignment Study for Chemical Transportation / 化學品運輸之車輛指派研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 107 / A company faces a vehicle routing problem in the issue of chemical logistics. The chemical industry outsources the delivery of chemicals to professional logistics companies in order to solve the complex and demanding customer needs. Currently, the delivery mode of the logistics company is based on personnel’s experience to formulate the assignment plan rather than any formal system, and the route is planned on the day before the delivery. The purposes of this study is to improve the efficiency and immediacy of logistics company assignments, understand how to plan the vehicle routes, maximize space utilization, and minimize the transportation costs.
This thesis presents a mathematical programming model as the theoretical calculation and develop the heuristic algorithm as the transportation mechanism. To satisfy customer’s demand, the algorithm development is divided into four parts: Building the initial conditions, improving the cost, reducing more than four customers, and distributing the cars. Collecting the company's transportation cost and vehicle distribution results, the empirical results show that the heuristic algorithm can effectively save transportation costs and the time cost of planning the route.
