碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 系統工程暨造船學系 / 107 / At the stage of diesel submarine concept design, various possibilities must be considered. To reduce the laborious iterations and to save time at this stage, a computer design program based on empirical formula was developed. Following the requirements of owner, this program was able to estimate the required submarine volume, weight, and power. According to the result, time and resource at this stage were reduced.
To justify the accuracy of this approach, the resistance of the bare hull was verified based on the result from CFD. According to the results from the empirical formula, the resistance of the bare hull was usually overestimated. To reduce the overestimation, the correction factor for the resistance estimation was calculated. With the new correction factor, the same cases were redesigned. According to the results, the size and the length of the submarine were reduced.
Meanwhile other available design software, Paramarine, was used to estimate the resistance. In addition, the different bow forms were developed and their resistance computed by the program we developed and Paramarine, the resistance obtained by Paramarine was usually smaller than empirical design formula and both approaches are not applicable to unsymmetric bow design.
