碩士 / 國立臺灣藝術大學 / 視覺傳達設計學系 / 107 / Every generation shares the same background and the social issues, and so does 1960s. Under the circumstances of the social revolutions, many subcultures jump out from the mainstream and form a brand-new style, which advocates freedom and fights against capitalism. People advocate equality and human rights as well as the freedom of both body and mind, using art crafts to deliver the changes of mind and the self-perceptions and further create such unique style, “the Hippie Culture”. This research explores the features of psychedelic art posters and the changes of this style by delicately choosing the representative ones in 1960s. From the analysis done in documents induction method, we realize that after social changes, cultural revolutions, and time elapses, hippie cultures start to accept the science media and digital output, and other modern approaches of creation. In this research, the theme can be separated into six categories, “Consciousness-raising, Connection, Chaos, Crystallization, Infinity, and The Life of Flower”. Using the techniques of psychedelic twists, curves, deformations, and interlocking overlaps to reveal the mystery of human bodies and the growth of souls; Nowadays, with the 3D modeling process and computer graphic techniques, many new elements have been added into the original. Such experimental combination brings both physical and spiritual feasts to the audiences to once again feel the truth hidden in the great arts.
