碩士 / 大仁科技大學 / 藥學系碩士班 / 107 / In recent years, many marine native microalgae and seaweed resources have attracted attention in the search for bioactive compounds to develop antioxidants source. Native algae have biological activity of potential medicinal value, antioxidant activity, anti-hyperglycemia, anti-hyperlipidemia and anticancer activity. This study investigated the functional components from four native algae, Sargassum duplicatum, Hydroclathrus clathratus, Nannochloropsis oculate, and Isochrysis galbana, collected in Taiwan. To study the antioxidant capacity of microalgaes and seaweeds, including the determination of DPPH radical scavenging activity, superoxide anion scavenging ability, reducing power and ferrous ion chelation ability projects. Secondly, the content of antioxidants in native algae was further analyzed. The items included polyphenolics, polysaccharides, flavonoids, chlorophyll, carotenoids, fucoidan and fucoxanthin. The basic components of native algae, dietary fiber and unsaturated fatty acid content were analyzed to evaluate the functional components of native algae.
Results showed that the content of polyphenolics and polysaccharides were most concentrated in Sargassum duplicatum, and the results of DPPH radical scavenging activity is best based on Hydroclathrus clathratus and Isochrysis galbana. The superoxide anion scavenging ability has higher ability to be observed in Isochrysis galbana, the reducing power is the highest in Sargassum duplicatum, and the ferrous ion chelation ability has higher ability to be observed in Isochrysis galbana. In addition, seaweed has a higher soluble dietary fiber than microalgae. In the fatty acid methyl ester component, saturated fatty acids accounted for the most Sargassum duplicatum, Hydroclathrus clathratus, Nannochloropsis oculata, and higher unsaturated fatty acids were observed in Isochrysis galbana. The highest analysis of fucoidan content was observed in Sargassum duplicatum. In addition, in the analysis of fucoxanthin, Isochrysis galbana was also found to contain fucoxanthin. In summary, native algae have a higher antioxidant activity and functional components can be developed as a potential for healthy foods.
