碩士 / 萬能科技大學 / 經營管理研究所在職專班 / 107 / The Linyuan area is located in the south of Kaohsiung City. The commercial fishing industry is prevailing locally. The depletion of fishery resources has a great impact on the livelihood of the local residents. This study aims to analyse the environmental advantages and the possibilities of future development in Linyuan so as to seek transformations in other ways.
Through the qualitative analysis of field investigation and in-depth interviews, collecting relevant sources and materials, and the combination with the outcome of SWOT analysis, the current obstacle and developmental in fishing village in Linyuan area are being pointed out. With reference to the successful cases in diverse transformations in the traditional fishing villages at home and abroad, a suitable management model for the future development has been brought forth by analysing success factors, and integrating with existing resources as well as culturally unique activities.
The study explores in details in four aspects based on geographic advantages, natural environment, historic background and fishery resources, and includes comprehensive SWOT analysis to discover internal advantages (9 items) and external opportunities (9 items) in the Linyuan area. The total of 18 items provides solutions for transformation decisions in the future and rethink of sustainable practices.
Although the local fisheries production faces crisis and challenge, the preservation of traditional cultural activities will become local features, combining with sustainable practices in fisheries production. This will be an important factor to provide the transformation and management model in traditional fishing villages.
