An Invisible Yuguang Island / 看不見的漁光島

碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 建築與室內設計系 / 107 / There are many agricultural and fishing villages in Taiwan, which are gradually fading. For many reasons, they are "anonymous". They are committed to developing tourism industry in order to attract more people to get rid of the anonymous dilemma. They are more anonymous because the introduced software and hardware are incompatible with local culture and environment. The misunderstanding causes the locality be removed from the places.
The object of the research is Yuguang Island in Anping District, Tainan City. It is anonymous because of the marginality in geographica, historical, locational, industrial developments and government plans.
In 2008, Tainan City Government proposed an “Anping Harbor National Historical Park Plan” to Anping District. Yuguang Island includes Yuguang Island Beach Coast Tourist Area, the Yuguang Island Leisure Settlement Area and the Sampan Boats-Docking Pier Zoning Plan. When the Yuguang Island Beach Coast Tourist Area and the Yuguang Island Leisure Settlement Area having been released, the place fabric having been damaged becuse the hotel having been settled by hotel investors.
The survey of the research is to find the rich resources of Yuguang Island, especially the ordinary spaces have unique characteristics, contingency, that let the sense of place won't be hidden by its anonymity.
This study theoretically analyzed the concepts of Anonymity, Place, and Contingency by conducting a literature review and investigated the cultural and environmental resources of Yugaung Island through field survey. The theoretical framework established through literature review was adopted to perform site analysis on Yugaung Island. A design method was then proposed and used in conjunction with the data obtained through field survey to select hotel sites and perform design operations and development. The drawings and models were repeatedly reviewed to obtain the results.
The analysis and design operations results presented in Chapters 3 to 5 indicate that the proposed design method can maintain the anonymity of a place and develop the environmental characteristics of it, thereby improving the flexibility and diversity of spatial behavior.
