would share aspects of the common heritage of mankind. Furthermore, it is possible to
find proposals for a legal status establishment based on this notion. Nevertheless, a
conceptual and historical analysis will allow us to conclude that it is not possible to
recognize it in the current legal regulation that governs the Antarctic continent and its
eventual recognition could even turn out counterproductive.
