Orientador: Angelo Cataneo / Resumo: O presente trabalho teve como objetivo desenvolver um estudo do comportamento multivariado das principais variáveis climáticas de interesse agrícola do estado de São Paulo, mediante aplicação dos métodos de análise de agrupamento, análise dos componentes principais e geoestatísticos. Utilizou-se dados de 25 variáveis climáticas compreendendo a altitude, precipitações pluviométricas médias mensais e temperaturas do ar médias mensais, coletados em 117 postos meteorológicos distribuídos pelo estado de São Paulo, excluindo-se o litoral por apresentar características climáticas distintas do restante do estado. Sobre as variáveis climáticas, aplicou-se a análise de agrupamento com o objetivo de caracterizar e determinar regiões climáticas homogêneas, usando a distância euclidiana, entre as variáveis climáticas, como medida de similaridade. O dendograma identificou visualmente os possíveis agrupamentos climáticos homogêneos no estado de São Paulo de acordo com a medida de similaridade escolhida. Em seguida, as variáveis climáticas foram submetidas à análise dos componentes principais, aplicada sobre a matriz de correlação R . Dos componentes resultantes, foram retidos somente os que apresentavam autovalores maiores que a unidade, ou seja, os três primeiros componentes. Estas análises mostram que as 25 variáveis climáticas podem ser substituídas pelos três primeiros componentes, que explicaram respectivamente, 57,20%, 26,18% e 5,88% da variabilidade total dos dados. Sobre os três componentes retidos, foi aplicada a rotação ortogonal de fatores conhecida como Varimax, que fornece fatores ortogonais linearmente independentes. Os pesos dos fatores, após rotação ortogonal, com valor absoluto maior que 0,79, combinados com as variáveis correspondentes, foram usados para modelar três índices climáticos, chamados de índice térmico, índice... (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo). / Abstract: The purpose of this work was to develop a study on the multivaried behaviour of the main climatic variables of agricultural interest in the state of São Paulo, by applying the methods of grouping analysis, principal components and geostatistical analysis. Data from 25 climatic variables including altitude, mean-monthly pluviomatric precipitation and mean-monthly air temperature collected from 117 weather stations throught the state of São Paulo, excluding the coast, were used. The grouping analysis was applied on the climatic variables with the purpose of characterizing and determining homogeneous climatic regions by using the euclidean distance as a measure of similarity. The dendogram visually identified the possible homogeneous climatic groupings in the state of São Paulo according to the chosen measure of similarity. Afterwards, the climatic variables were submitted to the analysis of the principal components applied on the matrix of correlation R. From the resulting components, only the first three components that presented eigenvalue higher than the unit were kept. These analysis show that the 25 climatic variables may be replaced by the first three components which explained respectively, 57,20%, 26,18% and 5,88% of the total variability of the data. The orthogonal rotation, which provides linearly independent orthogonal factors and is known as Varimax, was applied on the three components that were kept. The influence of the factors, after orthogonal rotation and containing absolute value higher that 0,79, combined with the respective variables, were used to model three climatic indexes called thermic index, pluviometric index and pluviothermic index.
