Resumo: São raros os trabalhos de matointerferência na cultura de arroz (Orysa sativa L.) de terras altas irrigado por aspersão, sendo a modalidade mais recente de cultivo de arroz de terras altas. Portanto, o presente trabalho teve como objetivos avaliar a matocompetição de Brachiaria plantaginea Link em quatro populações de plantas e em sete diferentes períodos de convivência destas com a cultura do arroz de terras altas irrigado por aspersão, bem como avaliar a eficácia do herbicida profoxydim sobre B. plantaginea (L.) e sua seletividade a cultura do arroz (Oryza sativa L.). Foram realizados dois experimentos, sendo o primeiro experimento adotou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso em esquema fatorial 7x4, sendo constituído por sete períodos de convivência, em dias após a emergência (DAE) da B. plantaginea (L.), (1- 0 DAE, 2- 7 DAE, 3- 14 DAE, 4- 21 DAE, 5- 28 DAE, 6-35 DAE e 7- com a planta daninha durante todo o ciclo da cultura = 100 DAE) e quatro densidades da planta daninha (d1- 1 planta m-², d2- 5 plantas m-² , d3- 25 plantas m-² e d4- 90 plantas m- ²), com seis repetições. No segundo experimento adotou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, sendo as parcelas constituídas por sete tratamentos constituídos por duas doses (125 e 150 g i.a./ha) e duas épocas de aplicação dos herbicidas profoxydim e fenoxaprop-p-ethyl (arroz em estádio com 4 folhas a 1 perfilho e estádio de 1 a 2 perfilhos da planta daninha, estádios inicial de 2 folhas a 3 perfilhos e tardio de 3 folhas a 4 perfilhos da planta daninha Brachiaria plantaginea (L). (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo). / Abstract: They are rare the weed interference works in the culture of upland rice (Orysa sativa L.) irrigated by aspersion, being the most recent modality of cultivation of rice on high lands Therefore, the following experiments had as objective to evaluate the weed competition of Brachiaria plantaginea Link. in four populations of plants and seven different periods of coexistence between these and irrigated upland rice by aspersion, as well to evaluate the effectiveness of the herbicidal profoxydim (AURA) against Brachiaria plantaginea (L.) and theirs selectivity on rice (Oryza sativa L.). Two experiments were accomplished, being the first experiment into randomization factorial blocks 7x4, being constituted by seven coexistence periods, in days after the emergence (DAE) of B. plantaginea (L.), (1 - 0 handed weed during whole crop development, 2 - 7 DAE handed weed after 7 days of weeds emergence and be cleaned the rest of crop development, 3 - 14 DAE handed weed after 14 days of weeds emergence and be cleaned the rest of crop development, 4 - 21 DAE handed weed after 21 days of weeds emergence and be cleaned the rest of crop development, 5 - 28 DAE handed weed after 28 days of weeds emergence and be cleaned the rest of crop development, 6 - 35 DAE handed weed after 35 days of weeds emergence and be cleaned the rest of crop development, 7 - 100 DAE with weed competition during whole crop development, and subdivide in four densities: d1 - 1 plant for square meter, d2 - 5 plants for square meter, d3 - 25 plants for square meter and d4 - 90 plants for square meter, with six repetitions in each subdivision with 14 m² each subdivision, completion in 168 plots.
