Orientador: Luiz Cesar de Moraes / Banca: Vania Regina Camargo Fontanella / Banca: Israel Chilvarquer / Banca: Warley David Kerbauy / Banca: Horácio Faig Leite / Resumo: Os objetivos deste estudo foram: a) avaliar a viabilidade de se fazer o registro a posteriori de imagens radiográficas periapicais, pela marcação automática de múltiplos pontos controle utilizando um programa para registro de imagens de satélite; b) comparar o desvio-padrão dos níveis de cinza das imagens subtraídas obtidas com e sem a aplicação prévia do registro de imagens a posteriori. Foram utilizadas seis mandíbulas humanas maceradas, aparelho radiográfico com corrente continua tipo DC, sistema de radiografia digital RVGui e os programas: Image Tool v.1.27 e Regeemy v.0.2.41. Foram executadas 80 radiografias, em dois momentos: 40 iniciais e 40 finais. As subtrações das imagens finais sobre inicial foram executadas com e sem a aplicação do registro de imagens a posteriori, no programa Regeemy. Observou-se nos resultados um menor desvio-padrão para as imagens obtidas após a execução do registro de imagens a posteriori da imagem final (p<0,05). Os autores concluem que: a) foi possível realizar o registro a posteriori de radiografias periapicais mediante a marcação automática de múltiplos pontos controle; b) a técnica de subtração mostrou melhores resultados quando utilizado um registro de imagens a posteriori / Abstract: The aims of this study were: a) to evaluate the viability of doing the a posteriori registration of periapical radiographic images, by the automatic demarcation of multiple control points, using a software for registration of satellite images, b) to compare the standard deviation of the gray levels of the subtracted images obtained with and without the previous application of the a posteriori images registration. It were used six human draw mandibles, current continues type DC x-ray equipment, digital radiographic system RVGui and softwares: Image Tool v.1.27 and Regeemy v.0.2.41. It was accomplished a free-hand 80 x-rays, in two moments: 40 initials and 40 final. The subtractions of the images final on initial were executed with and without application of the a posteriori image registration in the Regeemy software. The results show a smaller standard-deviation for the subtracted images obtained after execution of the a posteriori registration of the final image (p <0,05).
