Orientador: Renata Soares Junqueira / Banca: Flávia Corradin / Banca: Gilberto Figueiredo Martins / Resumo: Partindo da idéia de que "unidade" é o resultado da união entre os interesses coletivos e os interesses individuais, Almada Negreiros reitera, ao longo da sua produção artística, que essa junção é uma necessidade do homem, mesmo que isso crie uma atmosfera de disputa constante entre os seres humanos. Assim, o conceito almadiano de tragédia da unidade é derivado da constatação da impossibilidade de conciliar, no ser humano, as suas necessidades particulares e as necessidades coletivas. Tendo como corpus as peças Desejase Mulher e S.O.S., pretendemos apresentar as nossas reflexões a respeito da tragédia da unidade e de como ela se expressa, formalmente, no teatro de Almada Negreiros. Ao longo desse percurso, constatamos dois princípios fundamentais à tragédia da unidade: a repetição e a fragmentação. Elementos básicos de nossa análise. / Abstract: Considering "unity" as the result of the union between the collective interests and the individual interests, Almada Negreiros reiterates, along his artistic production, that this junction is a necessity of the man, even if this creates an atmosphere of constant dispute among the human beings. Thus, Almada Negreiros' concept of the tragedy of the unity is derived from the evidence of the impossibility of reconciling, in the human being, his own necessities and the necessities of the collectivity. Having as corpus the plays Deseja-se Mulher and S.O.S, we intended to present our reflections about the tragedy of the unity and how it expresses itself, formally, in Almada Negreiros' drama.
