O primeiro capítulo procura analisar, de maneira geral, o surgimento, o desenvolvimento e a consolidação da indústria farmacêutica no Brasil. No segundo capítulo é realizado um estudo do processo produtivo na indústria farmacêutica e da natureza do trabalho nesse ramo. O terceiro capítulo busca analisar a relação capital / trabalho nessa indústria no Estado de São Paulo nos anos recentes, enfatizando as negociações coletivas realizadas em 2007. A pesquisa fundamentou-se em observações empíricas realizadas no processo de manipulação de medicamento nos setores de líquidos e sólidos em três empresas farmacêuticas: uma pequena e uma média, ambas de capital nacional, e uma multinacional de grande porte. No que diz respeito às relações entre empresários e trabalhadores, foram efetuadas entrevistas com os representantes de cada categoria nas negociações coletivas, especialmente naquela que ocorreu em março de 2007. / Abstract: The central focus of this study is to search for the connections established in recent years between the productive process and the labor-capital relation within the pharmaceutical industry in the State of São Paulo. The first chapter intends to analyze the beginning, development and consolidation of the pharmaceutical industry in Brazil. The second chapter undertakes an examination of the productive process in the pharmaceutical industry and the nature of the work in this segment. The third chapter aims to analyze the relationship between labor and capital in this industry within the State of São Paulo in recent years, with emphasis on the Collective Negotiation of 2007. The research was based on empirical observation of the drug manipulation process, both at the liquid and solid sections, in three pharmaceutical companies: one small and one medium-size national companies and one big multinational one. Concerning the relationship between employers and employees, interviews were made with the representatives of each category in the Collective Negotiations, especially the one that took place in March of 2007. / Mestre
