Para tanto, procura verificar os efeitos de construção identitária, observados no discurso da Teoria Multifocal do Conhecimento, elaborada por Augusto Cury, um dos escritores representativos da literatura de auto-ajuda no Brasil. Sustentam esta pesquisa os pressupostos teóricos da Análise do Discurso francesa, a partir das contribuições dadas por Michel Foucault, já assinaladas por Michel Pêcheux, e amplamente desenvolvidas em vários trabalhos realizados por estudiosos brasileiros; mais especificamente, esta pesquisa centra-se nas noções de subjetividade e identidade e nas reflexões sobre ciência arroladas na obra de Foucault. Com esse aporte, problematiza-se a língua como materialidade do discurso cujo funcionamento, na auto-ajuda, possibilitou apreender tipos identitários a partir dos saberes criados nesse discurso visando a interferir e a conduzir as subjetividades em direção a um modelo de sujeito requisitado na contemporaneidade. A análise lingüístico-discursiva possibilitou perceber a conformação de um discurso utilitarista/pragmatista funcionando a partir do saber, do desejo, da crença e da ação dos sujeitos. / Abstract: This research conceives the literature on self-help as a contemporaneous practice of subjetctivation, searching to analyse the discourses which support certain self-help texts and comprehending them as a constitutive part of discourses historically produced. Therefore, it searches to verify the effects of identity construction, observed in the discourse of the Teoria Multifocal do Conhecimento [Multifocal Knowledge Theory], elaborated by Augusto Cury, one of the most representative writers on self-help literature in Brazil. This research is based on the theoretical presuppositions of the Discourse Analyses of French orientation, from Michel Foucault contributions, also pointed by Michel Pêcheux, largely developed in several works taken by Brazilian researchers; specifically, this research focus on not only the notions of subjectivity and identity, but also on the discussions about science, the way it is understood in the works of Michel Foucault. Taken these postulates, we discuss the language as a materiality of the discourse, which functioning concerning this kind literature provides the apprehension of several identity types from the knowledge created within this discourse, which objective is to interfere and conduct the subjectivities towards a subject pattern required in nowadays. A linguistic-discursive analysis provided the realization of a configuration of an utilitarian/pragmatic discourse functioning from knowledge, desire, beliefs, and action of the subjects. / Doutor
