Bicudo / Resumo: Esta pesquisa apresenta um estudo sobre a formação de professores de matemática, analisando a produção bibliográfica constituída pór artigos publicados em periódicos de âmbito nacional da área de Educação Matemática, nos últimos 32 anos (1976-2007). Considerando os cinco periódicos analisados (Gepem, Bolema, Educação Matemática em Revista, Zetetiké e Educação Matemática Pesquisa), foi possível observar que a maior parte dos artigos sobre esse tema foi produzida nos últimos 12 anos (1996-2007). Esse levantamento também nos possibilitou constituir um corpus, ou seja, uma base de dados, a partir da qual uma investigação qualitativa foi desenvolvida. Como resultado da investigação, construímos categorias de busca, seguidas de unidades de pesquisa e de análise, entre elas: o problema de pesquisa ou questão em discussão ou reflexão nos artigos; as ações investigativas ou descritas; as conclusões, considerações ou produtos dessas pesquisas relacionadas à formação inicial, em particular, e aos processos de formação do professor em geral; as referências teóricas citadas no desenvolvimento do artigo; os participantes da pesquisa; os sentidos sobre o professor; os sentidos sobre a formação do professor. Em busca da compreensão do campo formação de professores e de sua caracterização na área de Educação Matemática nos debruçamos na procura de respostas para as seguintes questões: Quais foram os problemas de pesquisa e/ou as reflexões que os artigos abordaram no período considerado para análise? Quais foram as idéias fundamentais que orientaram essas reflexões e/ou pesquisas e/ou projetos nesse periíodo? Quais os sentidos apresentados por esses autores de artigos sobre o professor e sua formação? Em suma, destacamos que as análises desses artigos contribuíram para a compreensão do 'ser' e do 'fazer' dos professores... (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: This research presents a study on mathematics teacher education, analyzing 32 years (1976-2007) of papers published in Brazilian journals of Mathematics Education. Considering the five journals analyzed (Gepem, Bolema, Educação Matemática em Revista, Zetetiké e Educação Matemática Pesquisa), it was possible to observe that most of the papers on this subject were produced in the last 12 years (1996-2007). This survey also allowed us to constitute a corpus, that is, a database, from which a qualitative research was carried out. As a result of this phase of research, we built categories and units of research and analysis, including: the problem of research or question under discussion or consideration in the papers; the investigative or described actions; the conclusions, considerations or products of theses researches related to the initial teacher education, in particular, and to the process of teacher's education, in general; the theoretical references used in the development of the paper; the research participants; the meanings about the teacher; the senses about teacher's education. Searching to understand the field of teacher's education and their characterization in the area of Mathematics Education, the following questions were addressed: What were the problems of research and/or reflections that the papers addressed in the period considered for analysis? What were the basic ideas that guided these thoughts and/or researches and/or projects in that period? What were the senses about teachers and its education given by the authors of these papers?
