Orientador: Otto Bismarck Fazzano Gadig / Banca: Rosangela Paula Teixeira Lessa / Banca: Fabio dos Santos Motta / Resumo: A biologia reprodutiva da raia-viola Rhinobatos percellens, que é comumente capturada no litoral de São Paulo, foi estudada a partir de exemplares capturados acidentalmente com pesca de arrasto de parelha de fundo entre Ilhabela (~24°00'S, 45°15'W) e Cananéia (~25°10'S, 47°52'W). Em amostragens mensais de setembro/2007 a agosto/2009 foram obtidos e analisados 752 exemplares de R. percellens. A amplitude de comprimento total (CT) variou de 260 a 855 mm e de 271 a 1020 mm e o peso total (PT) de 48 a 2140 g e de 60 a 2982 g, para machos e fêmeas, respectivamente. Houve predomínio dos machos nas classes de CT intermediárias e das fêmeas nos maiores CTs. A proporção sexual total foi 1,00 : 0,51 em favor dos machos porém, apenas entre os adultos o número de machos foi significativamente maior que o de fêmeas. A relação peso-comprimento foi estabelecida para os sexos agrupados através da equação PT = 1,29x10-6CT3,15. A anatomia do aparelho reprodutor foi descrita para cada um dos estádios de maturidade de ambos os sexos. Machos de todos os estádios de maturidade foram capturados em todas as estações do ano, exceto na primavera/07, enquanto que em nenhuma das estações do ano foram capturados os sete estádios de maturidade das fêmeas. O CT médio de maturidade sexual foi 558 mm de CT para os machos e 592 mm de CT para as fêmeas. O crescimento dos clásperes foi alométrico e ocorreu em três fases distintas, sendo a segunda caracterizada por rápido crescimento num estreito intervalo de CT; a maioria dos clásperes a partir de 80-84 mm de comprimento está rígida. O diâmetro médio do maior ovócito maduro foi 29,86 mm, a fecundidade ovariana foi estimada em 6,59 ovócitos e a ovulação ocorre entre agosto e novembro. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The reproductive biology of the guitarfish Rhinobatos percellens, commonly caught in the coast of São Paulo, was studied on the basis of specimens accidentally caught by bottom pair trawlers between Ilhabela (~24°00'S, 45°15'W) and Cananéia (~25°10'S, 47°52'W). In monthly samplings from September/2007 to August/2009 a total of 752 specimens of R. percellens were captured. The total length (TL) ranged from 260 to 855 mm and from 271 to 1020 mm and the total weight (TW) from 48 to 2140 g and from 60 to 2982 g, for males and females, respectively. There were predomination of males in intermediate TL and of females in bigger TL. Total sex ratio was 1,00 : 0,51 with males dominating, but only between adults the proportion of males was significantly greater than females. The length-weight relationship was established for both sexes together by the equation TW = 1,29x10-6TL3,15. The anatomy of the reproductive system was described for each maturity stage for both sexes. All males' maturity stages were captured in all the seasons, except in the spring/2007; while none of the seasons were captured all the seven females' maturity stages. The mean TL of sexual maturity was 558 mm TL for males and 592 mm TL for females. The clasper growth was allometric and in three distincted phases, with faster growth in small TL range in the second phase; the majority of claspers were rigid with 80-84 mm of clasper length. The mean diameter of the largest oocyte was 29,86 mm, the ovarian fecundity was 6,59 oocytes and the ovulation occurs between August and November. The uterine fecundity ranged from two to 13 embryos (mean 4,88). Larger females have more numerous litters and with larger embryos; the size at birth was estimated to be between 182-197 and 260 mm TL. All the organs examined were both functional.
