Orientador: Ubaldo Silveira / Banca: Reinaldo Nobre Pontes / Banca: Helen Barbosa Raiz Engler / Resumo: O presente trabalho tem o escopo de apresentar o debate da ética nas dimensões cultural, filosófica, histórico e social, e sua interface com o Serviço Social. Para isso, objetiva-se conhecer a dimensão ética do processo de trabalho do assistente social, tendo como cenário de pesquisa a cidade de Uberaba (MG). No entanto, torna-se necessário explorar os conhecimentos que perpassam a dimensão do cotidiano profissional; assim, procura-se apreender a concepção sobre ética e ética profissional dos assistentes sociais de Uberaba; identificar o debate sobre a ética no processo de trabalho do assistente social; desvelar os desafios postos no cotidiano profissional do assistente social para o agir ético; e identificar a materialização do Código de Ética de 1993 a partir do processo de trabalho dos assistentes sociais. Tendo os objetivos elencados, traça-se o percurso metodológico para desenvolver a pesquisa. Adotando o materialismo histórico e dialético como perspectiva teórica, foram escolhidas as técnicas para a realização da pesquisa, como a revisão literária, a pesquisa documental e de campo. Para melhor compreensão da realidade a ser desvelada, buscou-se na entrevista a forma de instrumento de pesquisa que mais aproximaria o sujeito pesquisador do sujeito pesquisado. Considerando o objeto a ser desvelado, a pesquisa foi de tipo exploratória e com abordagem qualitativa, o que permitiu avançar para além da aparência do objeto pesquisado. O resultado desta pesquisa está apresentado em três capítulos que sintetizam o conhecimento apreendido. Essa construção do conhecimento busca elencar as dimensões da ética, compreendendo os valores humanos que perpassam toda a discussão, como liberdade, autonomia e alteridade, entre outro. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The objective of this work is to discuss the cultural, philosophical, historical and social dimensions of ethics, and its interface with the Social Service. For this purpose, it was aimed to meet the ethical dimension of the work process of the social worker in Uberaba (MG). However, it is necessary to exploit the knowledge that permeate the professional everyday dimension, to grasp the concept of ethics and professional ethics of Uberaba's social workers; to identify the debate on ethics in the social worker work process; to reveal the challenges faced for ethical action in social worker professional everyday work; and to identify the materialization of the 1993's Code of Ethics from the process of social work. Having listed those goals. we draw the research methodological route. Adopting historical materialism as a theoretical perspective, the research techniques chosen were literature review, documentation and field research. For a better understanding of the reality to be unveiled, the interview was chosen as a research instrument for closely approaching the researcher and the subject. Considering the object to be unveiled, the study was exploratory with a qualitative approach, which allowed to move beyond the appearance of the object searched. The result of this research is presented in three chapters that summarize the knowledge acquired. This construction of knowledge aims to list the dimensions of ethics, including human values that underlie the whole discussion, as freedom, autonomy and otherness. The construction was subsided by theoretical frameworks adopted by the Social Work, which allowed, along with the empirical data, to understand the relationship of Social Work ethics in its historical process.
