Orientador: Marco Antonio Compagnoni / Banca: João Neudenir Arioli Filho / Banca:Ana Claudia Pavarina / Banca: Claudia Helena Lovato da Silva / Banca: Pedro Cesar Garcia de Oliveira / Resumo: O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito da utilização de dois adesivos (AS) (Ultra Corega creme- A1 e Ultra Corega pó - A2) sobre o padrão de movimentos mandibulares, movimentação da prótese total convencional (PT) superior, e o índice de satisfação dos usuários de PT com AS. Material e método: Os participantes (n=40) receberam PT novas e após o período de adaptação, foram submetidos a uma primeira avaliação, e divididos aleatoriamente em dois grupos em função dos protocolos (P): P1- utilização de A1 seguida de utilização de A2; P2 - utilização de A2 seguida de utilização de A1. As variáveis foram obtidas por meio de questionário e cinesiografia. Resultados: Houve uma intrusão semelhante entre controle, A1 e A2 (0,85 mm), porém, um maior deslocamento (0,17 mm) da PT superior após o uso de A2 (p<0,05). Não houve diferença significativa (p>0,05) para o movimento tridimensional da mandíbula após o uso de A1/A2. O conforto e retenção da PT mandibular foram influenciados pelos AS (p< 0,05). A1 e A2 não apresentam diferenças significativas em relação aos seus aspectos (p<0,05), entretanto, quando avaliada a satisfação entre eles, A1 apresentou diferenças significantes em relação a A2 (p<0,05). Conclusão: Embora a utilização de A1 ou A2 não tenha influenciado o movimento tridimensional da mandíbula, foi observado um maior deslocamento da PT superior durante a mastigação com A2. Ambos AS têm influência significativa na satisfação dos pacientes (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The objective ofthis studywas toevaluate the effect of using two denture adhesive (DA) (Ultra Corega cream- A1 and Ultra Corega powder - A2) on the pattern of jaw movements, maxillary complete denture (CD) movement, and satisfaction of CD with DA. Methods: Participants (n = 40) received new CD and after the adjustment period, they were submitted an initial assessment, and divided randomly into two groups according to the protocols (P): P1- use A1 followed by use A2; P2 - use A2 followed by use A1. The data were obtained through a questionnaire and kinesiography. Results: There was a similar intrusion of control, A1 and A2 (0.85 mm), but a larger displacement (0.17 mm) from the maxillary CD after use A2 (p <0.05). There was no significant difference (p> 0.05) for the three-dimensional movement of the jaw after using A1 / A2. The comfort and retention of mandibular PT were influenced by AS (p <0.05).
