No processo de constituição do pensamento, ocorre a formação dos conceitos, representados pela palavra. A concepção de deficiência transitou por diferentes períodos e foi atribuída a distintas causas. Ainda hoje, atrela-se ao conceito de desvio, sendo comum a adoção do rótulo de deficiente e/ou incapaz aos sujeitos que se encontram nessa condição. O estigma produzido nas redes de significados atua como controle social, valorizando positivamente o normal em detrimento do anormal. Atualmente, constatam-se inúmeras conquistas em termos normativos, porém, ações excludentes são comuns nos espaços sociais, localizando a deficiência no organismo que a apresenta, desconsiderando a necessidade de ajustes no contexto. A universidade, figurada como uma instituição social, deve propagar ações inclusivas, dentre as quais as destinadas às pessoas com deficiência. O objetivo desta pesquisa consistiu em identificar e analisar como universitários se posicionam diante de enunciados que retratam diferentes concepções de deficiência. Seus participantes foram 1472 graduandos de distintos cursos das nove grandes áreas do saber - Ciências Exatas e da Terra, Ciências Biológicas, Engenharias, Ciências da Saúde, Ciências Agrárias, Ciências Sociais, Ciências Humanas, Linguística, Letras e Artes e Outros - de uma universidade pública do Estado de São Paulo. In the process of Constitution of thought, the formation of the concepts represented by the word. The conception of disability transited in different períods and different causes were assigned to it. Even today, hooks up to the concept, being the adoption of the disabled label and/or unable to guys that are in this condition. The stigma produced in networks of meaning acts as social control, valuing positively normal abnormal detriment. Presently, several achievements, in normative terms, can be evidenced; however, exclusionary actions are common at the social spaces, in what the disability is located in the organism who holds it, disregarding the need of adjustments in the context. The University, figured as a social institution, must propagate inclusive actions, including those for people with disabilities. The objective of this research was to identify and analyze how university how university students position before utterances which treats about different disability conceptions. Its participants were 1472 undergraduate students from different courses of the nine major areas of knowledge - and the Earth Sciences, biological sciences, engineering, health sciences, agricultural sciences, social sciences, Humanities, Linguistics, letters and arts and others - of a public University located on the São Paulo State in Brazil. By virtue of the institution become University units distributed throughout the State, a model application in the distace. Data were collected through applying of the disability Conception Scale (DCS), by using a form available online on the internal network of the University.
