Materiais e Métodos: Para o capítulo 1 foi realizada uma pesquisa em três bases de dados (Pubmed/Medline, Cochrane Library e Embase). A pesquisa foi conduzida de acordo com as orientações do PRISMA e os estudos selecionados preencheram os critérios estabelecidos pelo índice (PICO): (1) população: indivíduos com deformidade dentofaciais esqueléticas padrão facial classe II ou III sem assimetria; (2) Intervenção: cirurgia ortognática para recuo mandibular através da osteotomia sagital ramo mandibular associado ou não à osteotomia Le Fort I e fixada com placas e parafusos e/ou parafusos bicorticais; (3) comparar: cirurgia ortognática para avanço mandibular através da osteotomia sagital ramo mandibular associado ou não à osteotomia Le Fort I e fixada com placas e parafusos e/ou parafusos bicorticais; (4) Resultados/desfechos: taxa de reabsorção condilar. Materials and Methods: Chapter 1 the search was performed on three databases (Pubmed / Medline, Cochrane Library and Embase). (PICO): (1) population: individuals with skeletal dentofacial deformity class II or III facial pattern without asymmetry; (2) Intervention: orthognathic surgery for mandibular indentation through sagittal split ramus osteotomy associated or not to osteotomy. The Fort I fixed with plates and screws and / or bicortical screws; (3): orthognathic surgery for mandibular advancement through sagittal split ramus osteotomy associated or not with Le Fort I osteotomy and fixed with bicortical plates and screws and / or screws; (4) Outcomes / outcomes: rate of condylar resorption.
