Räcker det här till ett E? : En studie kring vad, hur och varför högstadielärare i religionskunskap bedömer och betygssätter

This paper aims to investigate how high school teachers in the subject religious studies are working with assessment and grading in relation to the Swedish curriculum LGR 11. The issues will be explored through interviews with working secondary school teachers. To build a good foundation for the reader, the study will make a couple of definitions and a detailed description of the background of the curriculum, the teacher's role as well as what grading and assessment actually is. Next comes the choice of method and it will be presented. The study used the qualitative interview method. To strengthen further the study also presents some previous research on the topic as well as a couple of theories and these will be couples again in the analytical part of the study. The study result show how high school teachers in religious struggles with grading and assessment of their students and how they are trying to work in different ways to facilitate their work. The interviews also shows that student performance, commitment and skills are sometimes improved the more the teachers explained what is required to achieve the various grade levels. But there are also students that feel pressured and don’t want to know what is required from them.
