Platsen för Mora Kulturhus definieras av den omgivande landsbygden; jordbruk, skog och det intilliggande stallet. En kilometer bort rinner Moraån och på andra sidan den börjar Järnas täta bostadsområden. Mora kulturhus ligger i den södra delen av Mora, området vi ritade i höstens kurs, och är placerat i förlängningen av rekreationsområdet vid Moraån. Med vandringsled och cykelväg kopplas Järna, Mora och Mora Kulturhus samman och gör platsen lättillgänglig för områdenas invånare. Huvudleden genom Mora som kopplar samman Nykvarnsvägen i norr och väg 57 i söder ger besökare olika vägval mot Mora kulturhus. Platsen och Kulturhuset möjliggör att olika intressen kan samverka, samexistera och skapa gruppidentitet över aktivitetsgränser genom att erbjuda flexibla lokaler som i olika grad är tillgängliga för besökarna. Delar av strukturen är öppen och kan alltid erbjuda tak över huvudet för såväl vandrare som ungdomsgäng. Stora delar går att besöka och använda spontant medan andra delar kan bokas för mer specifika ändamål. Byggnadens utformning förhåller sig till omgivande arkitektur i form och placering och skapar på så vis en relation med det befintliga på platsen. En klassisk gårdsformation med sadeltak skjuts upp för den sluttande tomten och blir på så sätt både bekant och ny. En stor gradäng kopplar samman den upphöjda gården med stallet och utsikten över jordbruksmark och skog. / The location of Mora Kulturhus is defined by the surrounding countryside; agriculture, forest and the adjacent stable. One kilometer away flows the Mora River and on the other side it begins Järna's dense residential areas. Mora culture house is located in the southern part of Mora, the area we designed in the autumn course, and is located in the extension of the recreation area by the Mora River. With a hiking trail and cycle path, Järna, Mora and Mora Kulturhus are connected and make the place easily accessible for the residents of the areas. The main road through Mora, which connects Nykvarnsvägen in the north and road 57 in the south, gives visitors different choices towards Mora culture house. The site and Kulturhuset enable different interests to collaborate, coexist and create group identity across activity boundaries by offering flexible premises that are accessible to visitors to varying degrees. Parts of the structure are open and can always offer a roof over your head for both hikers and youth groups. Some areas of the building can be visited and used spontaneously while other parts can be booked for more specific purposes. The design of the building relates to the surrounding architecture in shape and placement and thus creates a relationship with the site. A classic farm formation with a saddle roof climbs up the sloping plot and thus becomes both familiar and new. A large grad meadow connects the elevated court yard with the stable and the view of agricultural land and forest.
