The aim of the study was to explore how temporary employees in home care service experience their psychosocial work environment and how it affects their health. A qualitative method was applied and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data. Seven temporary employees in home care service in a municipality in Sörmland were interviewed. The data was analyzes using a manifest content analysis.  The results showed that the participants think it’s an insecure form of employment where they can’t plan their life or know how much income they will have at the end of the month. They noticed the differences between the regular staff and the temporary employees in the workplace in several ways, e.g. temporary employees do not get the same access to information. The possibility to be able to say no to work was perceived as a positive factor. Although the temporary employees experienced negative aspects of the psychosocial work environment their health did not seem to be affected.
