In this thesis, the personalities of Ståle Kleiberg and Misha Alperin are approached from psychological, sociological and cultural perspectives. These artists are also viewed as representatives of some of the ways an individual can develop and excel. They are described in terms of their relationship to their respective domains - Kleiberg as a Norwegian contemporary composer and Alperin as a Ukrainian Jewish jazz composer - and also in terms of their relationships with other artistic domains. / <p>Oppgaven har vedlegg som mangler i digital versjon, og kan framstå som ufullstendig uten dette.
