Flera studier har visat att det finns stora möjligheter att effektivisera byggprocessen genom en bättre logistik. Inom byggindustrin har det länge ansetts vara den komplexitet som ett byggprojekt har som gör att det är svårt att få en effektivare logistik och materialhantering. Projektorganisationen ser olika ut för varje projekt och försörjningskedjorna lika så. Det här examensarbetet har syftet att undersöka vilka alternativa logistiklösningar som finns för byggprojekt i täta miljöer. I studien har två fallstudier genomförts för att undersöka alternativa lösningar och hur andra företag har löst problemen. Lagring av material utanför arbetsplatsen hos bygglogistikcenter och samleveranser för entreprenörer genom tredjepartsföretag är tänkbara alternativ för att effektivisera byggprocessen i täta miljöer. Det är fortsatt svårt att bevisa ekonomiska effekter av olika logistikalternativ då materialhanteringen och slöseri inom byggbranschen är svåra att mäta. Fördelarna som har upplevts är istället en säkrare och förbättrad arbetsmiljö samt mindre påverkan på omgivningen tack vare mindre transporter till byggarbetsplatsen. Resultatet visar att flexibilitet och kommunikation är de viktigaste om man ska använda sig av en tredjepartslogistiker. Digitala verktyg spelar också en allt viktigare roll då det upplevs förenkla och öka samverkan mellan entreprenörerna och deras försörjningskedja. / Several studies have shown that there is great potential for streamlining the construction process through better logistics. In the construction industry, it has long been considered the complexity that a construction project has that makes it difficult to get more efficient logistics. The project organization looks different for each project and the supply chains equally. The purpose of this project is to investigate which alternative logistics solutions that exist for construction projects in urban environments which means no room for materials storage on the site and require their deliveries just-in-time with high delivery precision. In the study, two case studies were conducted to investigate alternative solutions and how other companies have solved the problems. Storage of material outside the workplace of construction logistics centers and joint deliveries for contractors through third-party companies are possible alternatives for simplifying construction projects. The case studies show that the view of logistics differs depending on where in the country you are. Costs are reallocated to logistics personnel and third-party companies that handle large parts of the material flows instead of the craftsmen themselves. The challenges have been known for a long time in larger cities and methods have been developed based on the just-in-time principle to solve the problems. The result shows that flexibility and communication are the most important if one is to use a third-party logistics company within the construction industry. Digital tools play an increasingly important role as it is perceived to simplify and increase the collaboration between the contractors and the suppliers.
