The electric car has existed for over a century and producers has tried to commercialize it earlier but has not succeeded. In recent years, however, a change occurred that may be significant for the electric car and it is now to commercialize in the market of passenger cars. The technology has in recent years elaborated as more car manufacturers have started to invest in development in the subject field. This thesis aims to compile an action plan for the development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Uppsalahem ABs residential areas. It is based on a survey of different residential areas and a survey of charging infrastructure. There is a variety of options for Uppsalahem AB to go ahead with its plans to possibly set up charging infrastructure which partly depends on when the market for electric vehicles will increase. Uppsalahem has already shown interest in the subject field of energy and to be relatively early in establish a smaller set of chargers goes well with the ideas of this. As the company now uses environmentally-friendly vehicles in its fleet of vehicles for managers and technicians can an early deployment of chargers also be used to expand their vehicle fleet with a number of electrical cars. The expansion plan has been developed primarily for a smaller set of chargers in the form of a pilot project. Depending on the development of the market for electric vehicles can the demand for charging infrastructure change.
