A taxonomic study of some South African nematodes of the subfamily Mesodorylaiminae

M.Sc. / The first record on freeliving nematodes from South Africa was by Micoletzky (in 1916) and this dealt with (mainly) freshwater nematodes collected in the Cape Province, Natal and Rhodesia. Ten years later Steiner (1926) reported on nematodes associated with a sample of diseased peanuts received from South Africa. The next reports were those of Filipjev (1929), who described Actinolaimus hutchensoni, and Cobb (1932) who described Anguina tumefaciens found on Bradley grass (Cynodon sp.) in the Transvaal...
