Geochemical, Sedimentological and Mineralogical Study of Sediments along Coastal Areas of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE): Implications for Provenance, Depositional Environment, Heavy Minerals and Radiogenic Elements Contamination

Philosophiae Doctor - PhD (Earth Science) / This study describes sedimentological, geochemical and mineralogical results of
the beach sediments of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in order to understand
the provenance, depositional environment and the level of contamination. Fifty-seven
beach sand samples were collected for grain size, geochemical and mineralogical
analyses using inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS), X-ray
fluorescence (XRF) and using X-ray diffraction (XRD).
