This diploma thesis deals with minorities in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is mainly focused on the current situation of the political scene in relation to the minority issues and development of Germany as a new European multicultural superpower. The Federal Republic of Germany has experienced a significant influx of immigrants since the middle of the previous century and the number of them reaches nine percent of the total population nowadays. The most numerous group of foreigners are the Turks with more than 1,5 milion of them living there. The theme of the thesis is treated as a historical and geographic development of selected minorities in the Feredral Republic of Germany from the so-called multicultural viewpoint, which is the base stone that helps to understand both, the individuals and the groups of different cultures, which highlights the cultural diversity. Data regarding immigration of population from available sources are commented on in the framework of the quantitative research. Another point is the prognosis of immigration of population at the level of federation The aim of the thesis is to introduce the background of ethnic composition of minorities in Germany in the framework of assertion of the current immigration policy. This diploma thesis also deals with issues related to immigration, employment policy and social policy in Germany.
