The goal of this thesis is to describe the relation of trade and environment and to describe the approach of WTO to this issue. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the relation of trade and environment, the second chapter is about the approach of WTO to this issue and the third chapter describes environmental disputes settled in GATT/WTO.
