[pt] O presente trabalho analisa a trajetória de Luiz Gonzaga e do gênero musical Baião, sua inserção e atuação no mercado fonográfico brasileiro, a partir da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, entre meados da década de 1940 até o final dos anos 1970. Na dissertação também se discutiu dois temas que marcam a extensa obra do compositor e intérprete pernambucano: os conceitos polissêmicos de sertão(ões) e de migração. Tais temáticas dialogam com a própria trajetória de Luiz Gonzaga enquanto migrante e dos milhões de trabalhadores e trabalhadoras que saíram da região Nordeste para os grandes centros urbanos do Sudeste. Por isso, esse trabalho representa o esforço de compreender as relações conflitivas e/ou consensuais entre autor, obra e público sem deixar de discutir as diversas implicações teóricas e metodológicas impostas pelas fontes consultadas (imprensa e canções). Através da mobilização dessas fontes e das leituras diversas, foi possível perceber que Luiz Gonzaga contou com uma importante rede de solidariedade de muitos agentes mediadores do rádio e da imprensa carioca provenientes da região Nordeste. Isso foi decisivo para a introdução, difusão e circulação do Baião no mercado fonográfico como uma forma de resistência cultural. Por outro lado, a recepção pelo público, em particular o migrante, foi responsável pelo grandioso sucesso desse gênero musical entre os anos 1947 a 1953 e sua perpetuação como música nacional. / [en] This work analysis the trajectory of Luiz Gonzaga as well as his insertion and performance in the Brazilian phonographic market, and the musical genre Baião in Rio de Janeiro from the middle of the forties till the last years of the seventies. It is also discussed two themes which defined the long work of this pernambucano composer and singer: the polysemic concepts of sertão (Brazilian backwoods) and migration. These themes walk together with Luiz Gonzaga s history as a migrant and also with millions of workers who left the Brazilian Northeast to go to big Southeast cities. Therefore, this work represents the effort to understand the conflictive and/or agreement among the author, work and public without forgetting to discuss the several theoretical and methodological implications imposed by the researched source (press and songs). Through these source mobilization and several reading, it was possible to realize that Luiz Gonzaga counted on an important solidarity network formed by many radio mediators agents and from the carioca press coming from the Northeast. This was decisive to the Baião introduction, diffusion and circulation in the phonographic market as a cultural resistance form. On the other hand, the audience reception, especially by the migrant one, was responsible for the big success of this musical genre between 1947 and 1953 and its perpetuation as a national kind of music.
