Dans le cadre de l étude de la stabilité des pentes, étude lié aux grands mouvements de terrains pouvant avoir une incidence catastrophique tant au niveau humain qu'économique, le problème est abordé sous l angle de l instabilité des pentes. Des études numériques menés sur les matériaux granulaires ont montré un comportement particulier sur certains chemins de contraintes, qui peut provoquer l instabilité avant atteindre le critère de la plasticité parfaite (Mohr-Coulombe). Ces résultats n ont pas encore été retrouvés expérimentalement.Le sujet de cette thèse est donc de caractériser expérimentalement l instabilité des matériaux granulaires en suivant tous les chemins de sollicitation dans l'espace des contraintes, et de simuler les résultats expérimentaux obtenus en utilisant un modèle de comportement mécanique développé dans l INP Grenoble afin d obtenir une description complète sur la rupture des matériaux granulaires / In the frame of the study about instabilities in the granular media, un study related. with huge movements of the soil that may be catastrophic in the human and economic fields.
