Esta pesquisa investiga como o livro didático de Língua Portuguesa do Projeto Teláris, destinado ao Ensino Fundamental II, do 6º ao 9º ano, escolhido pelas professoras de Língua Portuguesa da Unidade Municipal de Ensino Mario de Oliveira Moreira, no PNLD, de 2012, aborda o uso do diminutivo no volume do 6° ano do Ensino Fundamental. Foram verificadas questões referentes a como ocorre a contextualização das atividades, a importância que se dá à norma gramatical ou ao uso e o papel do texto nas propostas de atividades voltadas ao léxico e à língua. A partir disso, foi elaborada e aplicada uma sequência de atividades que promovesse o estudo e a reflexão sobre o tópico, assim, visando ao ensino dos usos que possibilitassem ao aluno ampliar seu repertório de possibilidades expressivas e estilísticas desse elemento linguístico. Pretende-se, com isso, apresentar propostas de trabalho com o livro didático, voltado aos estudos sobre a língua, que proporcionem ao professor a conquista de uma prática mais autônoma, sem desprezar o livro didático, que poderá lhe servir como aliado se usado de forma crítica, e sem permitir que este descaracterize o seu papel docente, tão fundamental no processo pedagógico. / This work analyzes the Portuguese textbook of the Atica Publisher\'s Teláris Project, aimed at Secondary School, from 6 th to 9 th grade, which was selected among the PNLD (National Textbook Program, in the Portuguese acronym) titles by the Portuguese Language teachers of the Municipal Education Center Mario de Oliveira Moreira in 2012 PNLD. The aim is to investigate how the 6th grade book in this series addresses the use of the diminutive. We will assess issues such as how activities are contextualized, the importance given to grammar rules, or to the use and role of the text in proposals of activities concerning lexicon and language. From this, it will be designed and implemented a series of activities that will promote the study and reflection on the topic, aiming at teaching those in a way that enable the students to expand their repertoire of expressive and stylistic possibilities of this linguistic element. With it, we intend to present proposals for working with this textbook aimed at the study on the language that provide the teacher the possibility to reach a more autonomous practice without neglecting the textbook. The textbook may serve as an ally if used critically and without allowing it to deprive the teaching role, which is fundamental in the educational process, of its characteristics.
