The plating bath for the electrodeposition contained nickel sulfate, sodium tungstate, sodium citrate, ammonium chloride, and a variable amount of 1 gm tungsten particulate ranging in concentration from about 5g/L to 15g/L.The first method was electrodeposition with only moderate stirring of the plating bath. The second method had a forced flow of solution on the substrate via a pump. The results showed incorporation in both methods, but the flowed method resulted in more incorporation. The amount of incorporation increased with the amount of particulate in solution until a limit that lies somewhere between 10g/L and 15g/L of particle concentration. At this point, the incorporation became hindered by the excess amount of particulate in solution. It was also shown that an increase of particulate concentration caused more voids in the material, and the flowed method caused less voids than the normal method. A tapering in the amount of incorporation between the substrate side and the surface side of the deposit was observed; the area close to the substrate had a higher incorporation than the area near the surface. Hardness testing showed mechanical property differences through the thickness of the deposit with the area near the substrate being softer than the area near the surface. Compression testing showed an increase in the strain and a decrease in the stress before failure, suggesting an improvement in ductility. / by Donald R. Jenket, II. / S.B.

Diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem práva a morálky v iusnaturalismu a iuspozitivismu, přičemž poukazuje na různé významové konotace pojmů právo a morálka. Naznačuje historický vývoj obou směrů až do období dvacátého století a u dílčích období vývoje uvádí i významné představitele, a to včetně jejich hlavních filosofických myšlenek. Těžiště práce však spočívá ve srovnání přístupů a pojetí vztahu práva a morálky v koncepcích významných právních filosofů H. L. A. Harta a R. M. Dworkina. Oba muži bývají považováni za představitele zmíněných směrů a jejich názorový střet lze pokládat za jeden z nejvýraznějších momentů ve filosofii práva druhé poloviny dvacátého století. Práce se tak detailně věnuje problematice práva a morálky nejprve u H. L. A. Harta a následně pak u R. M. Dworkina. Snaží se předložit základy jejich právních tezí, charakterizovat přístup k chápání morálky a v neposlední řadě také popsat již výše zmiňovaný vztah dvou normativních systémů - práva a morálky. Diplomová práce vychází ze studia řady pramenů, jako jsou monografie, učebnice, sborníky, články odborných časopisů či internetové zdroje. Klíčovými se však mezi použitými zdroji stala především díla obou právních filosofů, která umožnila pochopit jejich rozdílná stanoviska k problematice práva a morálky. A multi-element soil extraction procedure (P, K, Mg, and Ca) using a mixed cation/anion exchange resin has been developed and its performance evaluated. Ion uptake to and recovery from the resin were highly reproducible over the concentration ranges typically experienced in soil. The effects on the overall reproducibility of changing various experimental parameters such as soil:water:resin ratios were quantified. Plant nutrient uptake and yield parameters obtained from either field (coconut) or pot (rye-grass) experiments using tropical or temperate soils have been used to evaluate the predictive capabilities of the proposed method. Comparisons with existing more widely acceptable soil extractants are made. The proposed method generally gave highly significant correlations with crop data which were independent of soil type. The possibility of including a simultaneous multi-element analytical step, which greatly increases the overall advantages of the resin procedure, has also been assessed.
