The diploma thesis will focus on the life and work of bishop Simon Barta (1864-1940) in the period 1920-1940, when this Church dignitary headed the diocese of Ceske Budejovice. It will be based on the sources of the central and regional archives, which, with the knowledge of the specialized literature, will put Barth's life in the historical and religious context of the First and Second Czechoslovak Republic and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and reconstructing the bishop's activity. The student will work with analytic-synthetic, comparative and heuristic methods that will allow him to plastically portray Barth's action in an adequate religious context of the history of the 20th century.

The aim of this thesis was identify the application of environmental-friendly approaches offer of accommodation in subject areas, assess the importance of responsible approaches in strategy of companies offering accommodation, research into preferences of visitors of the former České Budějovice district concerning a specific offer of responsible tourism industry. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of time-space mobility of university students in the town Ceske Budejovice. The research was conducted on the basis of data collection through three methods, combining various approaches to time-space mobility. The first method used was questionnaire research representing traditional way of collecting information. The modern methods category was represented by GPS loggers and smartphone devices operating through the motion capture applications. The aim was a qualitative comparison of these methods in practice and further evaluation of their potential benefits for time-space research. Furthermore, the main focus is on the overall analysis of time-space mobility of university students in urban environment of Ceske Budejovice, with emphasis on the concept of bundles. Individual results are supported by images and maps created in geographic information systems. The final chapter summarizes the acquired findings and the resulting measurements of time-space mobility of university students in Ceske Budejovice.

The thesis has a theoretic and an empiric character. The theoretical part deals with a term the addiction on drugs and characterizes its particular types and stages. It describes possible demonstrations of addictions, causes and conditions of origin of addictions and its influence on human?s development and his or her life in a social group and in his or her family. The thesis is occupied with kinds, possibilities and efficiency of chosen types of drugs prevention and school?s possibilities of diagnosing and addiction managing. The practical part considers with finding contemporary condition of drugs addictions on the second grade at primary schools in České Budějovice and with types of preventions which are used in these schools.

The aim of the degree work was to chart the labour market in Ceské Budejovice district in relation to foreign countries and to specify the influences on the development of legal employment of foreigners in Ceské Budejovice district, who had been granted a work permit in last 5 years, and the impact on unemployment in Ceské Budejovice district. It also charts the influence of EU entry and its impact on the outflow of workers from the labour market in Ceské Budejovice district. The main aim is to analyze the examined region and the labour market with regard to professions demanded by the employers. It is about how this affects the legal employment of the foreigners. A comparison of Ceské Budejovice employment agency{\crq}s statistics from the years 2003 {--} 2007 and the surveys, done via questionnaire enquiries, at employers (companies) in Ceské Budejovice who employ foreigners or have the intention to employ foreigners, was made. For purpose of cross-border employing of citizens of the Czech Republic via the employees of the employment agency in Ceské Budejovice arranged a contact with an employee of the given agency Arbeitsmarketservice Freistadt, where we talked about questions concerning the way of employing people from abroad, especially the Czech Republic. Further on an analysis of the questionnaire enquiries and the statistical data assigned by the employment agency was made. The results of the questionnaire enquiries were passed on to the employment agency in Ceské Budejovice for further possible use.

Optimization of the number of nursing staff at selected workplaces of the České Budějovice Hospital As the title shows determination of the optimum number of non-physician health care staff members at surgical departments of České Budějovice Hospital is the main question this thesis deals with. The topic is up-to-date mainly for the lack of funds in health care and for the permanent pressure from the general public on the need of health care quality improvement. The works of Karla and Otakar Pochylý, who published their first book dealing with these issues in 1999, were the basic inputs for the research part of the thesis. We set the following hypotheses before commencement of the research: 1 ? The numbers of nursing staff at standard health care units are in line with K. Pochylá?s methodology. This hypothesis was partly confirmed. The average numbers of nursing staff workloads are in line with K. Pochylá?s methodology at two surgical departments only. 2 ? Qualification representation of nursing staff at the individual health care units complies with the recommended methodology of K. Pochylá. This hypothesis was not confirmed. Representation of the nursing staff qualifications is based on the individual needs of the particular departments. 3 ? The number of nursing staff members at the intensive care unit corresponds with the recommended methodology of K. Pochylá. This hypothesis was not confirmed. The number of nurses is lower by 2.23 in average at the intensive care unit. The content of the work has more informative character and should actually serve as an insight into the existing situation at the particular departments. It might also serve as a guide helping top managers with efficient utilization of human resources in health care facilities. This is why the results will be provided to the surgical department management of the České Budějovice Hospital.

This thesis compares the selected type of property valuation methods in the garage area of the Czech Budejovice. Selected garages were awarded cost method, comparative method and comparison method from the database. At the beginning of the thesis describes the basic concepts of real estate valuation. The following describes the operators occurring in the real estate market, a general description of the garage. To conclude the theoretical part describes selected methods of evaluation of existing garage, according to the rules and regulations according to previous regulations. For the purpose of this thesis was awarded with 10 garages, of which 8 are terraced and 2 detached. Learning rates are compared and statistically analyzed.

This thesis focuses on the relationships between Czechs and Germans in České Budějovice during the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The main emphasis is on the influence the church had on the relationships between the two nations in the time and place mentioned above, as they were described in the collected sources and historic literature. This thesis concentrates mainly on these topics: religious life, community life and education. The conclusion of my work is the discovery that the church and the individual congregations did not participate in the national struggle in the town. They only tried to work to the benefit of the town and its citizens. In case they set up organizations such as schools, clubs, hospitals, it was because they were missing in the town or because they did not exist in sufficient numbers for the ever-evolving town of České Budějovice. It did not matter whether it was a school for Czech or German children, for example. Also, the nationality of the members of the church and congregations themselves was not necessarily decisive. Although the knowledge of both Czech and German language in the town was an important prerequisite. The main topic of my thesis is the prevention of socially pathological phenomena and their implementation in low-threshold facilities for children and youth (NZDM). The work has two parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part describes the socio-pathological phenomena, prevention, prevention programs and social services - NZDM general. In the empirical part is to find out the answer to the question, what is the impact of the implementation of prevention programs for service users in a particular device - in NZDM V.I.P.in Czech Budejovice, what should prevention programs in 2012 targeting and why, how often were made and what was the clients' interest in the topics of preventive measures.

The diploma thesis deals with problems of depression in older people. Mainly the work is focused on identifying and analyzing the role of nurses in screening for depression in older people in primary care, acute care, long-term care and home care. This thesis was focused on theoretical direction and was used the method of design and demonstration. In this thesis was set one main goals with five research questions. The main goal was to identify and analyze the role of nurses in screening for depression in the elderly. RQ 1: What is the role of the nurse in screening for depression in the elderly? RQ 2: What is the role of the nurse in the primary care in screening for depression in the elderly? RQ 3: What is the role of the nurse in screening for depression in hospitalized patients in acute care? RQ 4: What is the role of the nurse in screening for depression in seniors in long-term and home care? RQ 5: What rating scales and methods are used in screening for depression in the elderly? The thesis introduce the concept of depression. The following are specified the causes of and the important factors that affect depression in the elderly. It also deals the differences in the clinical symptomatology of depression in old age. It explains possibilities and various barriers in the diagnosis of depression. Another chapter introduces complete geriatric examination, diagnostic classification systems, possible screening methods and scales for detection of depression in the elderly population. It also deals methods of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment and its possible complications associated with older age. By reason of increased suicide rate caused by depressive disorder the issue of suicidal behavior in the elderly is introduced. The next chapter deals with the nursing process, which is used by nurses in practice. It consists of the evaluation of the patient's health condition, making nursing diagnosis, creating nursing plan and subsequent implementation and evaluation. The nursing process is also needy for providing quality care. The nursing process in the stage of nursing diagnosis, introduces possible nursing diagnosis for a patient suffering from depression, which are based on the latest classification. Finally is described the role of nurses in screening for depression in the elderly in different health facilities and their contribution to the timely evaluation of depression in the elderly. This chapter introduces the role of nurses, nursing screening and collaboration with a physician. The role of nurses in screening for depression in different medical facilities is based on the first phase of the nursing process of assessment. On the basis of objective and subjective information, the nurse will assess the overall health and mental condition of the patient. Primarily, it was investigated what is the role of the nurse in screening for depression. On the basis of content analysis and synthesis it was necessary to used and processed domestic and foreign literature. A number of relevant sources are the results of various studies and Meta-analyzes, mostly from abroad, but also from the Czech Republic. The thesis can serve as a basis for nurses. The result of this thesis is to create e-learning material available for students in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice in the tutorial called Moodle.
