Pravěké osídlení Levého Hradce / Prehistoric settlement of Levý Hradec (Central Bohemia)

Vávrová, Barbora January 2013 (has links)
The thesis presents the results of processing the excavation of the acropolis of Levý Hradec (district of Praha-západ). The excavation took place between 1940-1954 under the leadership of Ivan Borkovský (ARÚ ČSAV in Prague). The hillfort is known as the Early Medieval center, however it was notably settled during the prehistory as well. Unfortunately, these findings have not been processed yet. The main aim of this thesis was the identification of prehistoric cultures on the basis of pottery collection, assignment of the extent of settlement in particular cultures and effort to date the prehistoric phases of fortification on the basis of original documentation and the pottery findings. Moreover, there was the attempt to identificate the excavated objects in documentation and cross connect the pottery with documentation.

Čechy a Morava v raném středověku v pohledu historie a archeologie. Shody a rozdíly. / Bohemia and Moravia in the Early Middle Age from view of history and archaeology. Coincidences and differences.

Lohnická, Jana January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with selected early medieval archeological material from both sides of Czech-Moravian Highlands, in Bohemia and Moravia. Main period of interest is from late 8th century to 11th century. The aim of the work is comparison to an overview of Czech Moravian contacts from the point of view of historical sources by reason that between the 9th century and the 11th century Bohemia and Moravia come in on major and the minor interdependency culminant in first quarter 11th century by final Přemyslid subjugation of Moravia. In the thesis I focus on Early Medieval Hoards of Iron Implements and Weapons, axe-shaped Ingots, alcove Graves, Ceramics (especially parallel of pottery from south Moravia and north-western Bohemia), jewellery of Great Moravian origin or tradition and coins (especially Hungarian coins in Moravia). The thesis is based on partial studies focused on individual findings. The relationship between Moravian, Bohemian Elite and Avar khaganate can be state on the basis of increasing number of findings. There were no fundamental differences between Bohemia and Moravia. Alcove Graves indicate link between south Moravia and Avar khaganate. In comparison Hoards of Iron Implements and Weapons were concluded resemblance between Bohemian and Moravian Hoards with no contain of...

Hospodářská a finanční politika Ferdinanda I. v Čechách / The Economic and Financial Policy of Ferdinand I. in Bohemia

Chmelař, Jiří January 2014 (has links)
Jiří Chmelař The Economic and Financial Policy of Ferdinand I. in Bohemia Abstrakt v anglickém jazyce The economic and financial policy of early modern state influences its military and foreign policy, cultures and other life's aspects of its inhabitants. Ferdinand's accession to the throne meant turning point at the above mentioned aspects. It would be highly simplified to mark year 1526 just as a change of ruling dynasty. Ferdinand I., the second son of Jane who was Spanish heiress and Philip who was Burundian ruler, learned advanced administration and at first he started to apply it in Austria after death of his grandfather Maximilian I. After his election victory he started to apply it also in the Kingdom of Bohemia. In 1522 the Blood Judgment in Vienna showed King's tolerance with separation of powers and his conception of solution of a dispute with liege people. The king's authority was weak in the Kingdom under the Jagiellonian rule. Most of power was in hands of few elites and there was tension between aristocracy and king's towns because of economy (brewing) and political power. Since 1490 Jagiellonian kings had governed from Buda in Hungary and had visited Kingdom of Bohemia rare. The last king named Louis II. deceased during the battle of Mohács in 1526. Although Jagiellonian dynasty and House of...

Rekonstrukce paleoenviromentálních změn v pozdním pleistocénu pomocí multiproxy záznamu ze sprašové série Bůhzdař / Multiproxy evidence of Late Pleistocene environmental changes in the loess/paleosol sequence of Bůhzdař

Flašarová, Kristýna January 2016 (has links)
Loess-paleosol sequences preserve information that can be used to reconstruct paleoenvironement, specifically the climatic conditions and the vegetation present at the time of their formation. A dense network of reliably analyzed sequences from different geographic locations is crucial for representation of ecological and climatic trends during the Pleistocene (Frechen, 2011). The aim of this thesis is to fill the gap in the geographical distribution of well described loess-paleosol sequences in Central Europe. Therefore, it focuses on a loess- paleosol sequence in Bůhzdař, situated 9 km NW of Prague, Czech Republic. This profile was last studied in 1952 by naturalist Vojen Ložek. This thesis uses a number of analyses in order to get a multi-proxy record of local paleoenvironmental changes archived in a sequence of alternating loess sediments and paleosols in Bůhzdař. Geochemical approaches are combined with grain size distribution to define climatic conditions at the time of formation of the strata. Key words: loess/paleosol sequences, Bůhzdař, Czech Republic, particle size distribution, total organic carbon, XRF, XRD, stable isotopes 13 C and 18 O

Rozhraní kůra/plášť v geodynamické oblasti západních Čech / The crust/mantle boundary in geodynamically active area of West Bohemia

Podolník, Jan January 2017 (has links)
The region of West Bohemia is one of the most geodynamically active areas of Central Europe. The activity is characterized by many natural phenomena such as recurrent seismic swarms. The crustal structure of the region was subject of many geophysical investigations that revealed increased reflectivity of the lower crust. In this thesis, we adapt the multi-azimuthal approach for the detection of crustal discontinuities developed by Hrubcov'a et al. (2013). We apply the ap- proach on waveforms of the 2000 and 2008 swarms that occurred in the Nov'y Kos- tel focal area registered by several German stations. Analysis of the data of more distant German stations allowed expanding of the information about the depth and character of the crust/mantle transition in a broader area of the West Bo- hemia region. The results show a thickening of the zone in Germany with in- creasing distance from the epicentral area. Such findings are in agreement with previous active and passive seismic experiments.

Sídliště z doby římské v Holubicích / Settlement of the Roman Period in Holubice

Zahnašová, Markéta January 2018 (has links)
Presented thesis deals with the settlement archaeology of the Roman Period in Bohemia and then introduces in detail also the findings of the Holubice settlement in the Prague-west district in this period. The work is mainly focused on processing and evaluation of archeological research at the sites "Kozákova zahrada" and "Na Ovčárně", which took place under the leadership of Vladimír Sakař between years 1977-1989. There was uncovered a part of the settlement from the younger part of early Roman Period and from the beginning of late Roman Period. Pottery sherds were evaluated with quantitative and qualitative analysis. The thesis also includes the analysis of unearthed objects and the outline of a shift of the land register of Holubice based on mapping of finds which were acquired through field exploration and detector survey. The thesis includes tables with drawings of shards of the pottery made by the author of this thesis (unless otherwise indicated) and also map tables from the archeological research and other inserts.

Nástěnná malba 13. a 14. století v severozápadních Čechách / Wall painting of 13th and 14th century in Northwest Bohemia

Lisničková, Emma January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with mural painting of the 13th and 14th centuries in the northwest Bohemia. The first part describes a brief history of medieval mural painting in the region. The most important part of the thesis consists of separate essays on places with surviving murals, i.e. mural cycles from Krupka, Brozany, Slavětín, Dobroměřice, Bedřichův Světec, Židovice, Radonice, Černochov, Volyně, Roudníky, Bečov nad Teplou and Potvorov. These chapters always have two parts: first existing literature on a particular location is critically evaluated and then a description and style and iconographic analysis are conducted. The thesis is specifically concerned with those who ordered the murals, including both famous aristocratic families and monastic communities. For this reason, even localities beyond the borders of the specified region are included, because they are connected with the topic by the donors.

Belemniti jury severních Čech - stratigrafie, paleobiogeografie a možný izotopový záznam / The Jurassic belemnites of northern Bohemia - stratigraphy, palaeobiogeography and possible isotope record

Geist, Jan January 2020 (has links)
4 Abstract The work is based on a revision of collection from several scientific institutions from the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Saxony (National Museum in Prague, Chlupáč Museum of Earth History, Senckenberg Natural History Collections Dresden, etc.). The collection is based on samples published by Oskar Lenz and George Bruder from the second half of the 19th century. Both authors also processed the findings of other researchers (e.g. Cotta, Weisse). The belemnite rostra were systematically divided into four families, five genera and seven identifiable genera. One rostrum has not exactly been determined. The age of the samples was established to be the Middle and Upper Jurassic (Bajocian- Kimmeridgian). The length of the expected sedimentation in this area has been prolonged to the past (deeper to the Middle Jurassic), mainly due to the finding of the species Megateuthis gigantea Schlotheim, 1820. Earlier research (especially in the 20th century) assumed the extent of preserved carbonate rocks only in the Oxfordian and Kimmeridgian age, with a not much fossiliferous Callovian Brtníky Formation. The studied sedimentary rocks show a significant influence of Milankovich cycles with repeated alternation of carbonate and non- carbonate layers in the sequence. Preliminary results of isotope...

Počátky sakrální architektury v západních Čechách. Kapitoly z církevní archeologie / The Beginning of the Sacral Architecture in West Bohemia. Chapters from Church Archeology.

Čechura, Martin January 2019 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is a research of the oldest sacral architecture on the example of one region - West Bohemia. While historical research has suggested that the oldest churches were built at administrative castles and formed the basis of a great-parish system, archaeological sources show a different image. Already during the 11th century, we have documented a number of churches in the landscape. Their relationship to older burial grounds is being explored. Compared to the supposed discontinuity between older row burial sites and church cemeteries, it appears that in many cases there was a direct spatial connection. The churches were founded in places of older settlement, as well as in places of older cemeteries. Archaeological research has documented wooden buildings and stone architecture too. In several cases, spatial and functional links to residences have been explored. In many cases, a greater age of churches was proved. Some churches were preceded by an older sacral building. The position of some churches on important roads and borders indicates their symbolic role. The results of archaeological research formulated to questions who were the builders of these churches and what was their role in medieval society. Thus, the view of the early Christianization of the early medieval population...
