[pt] O concílio de Calcedônia, o quarto Ecumênico da Igreja, ocorrido em 451, professa e define solenemente a plena humanidade e a plena divindade de Jesus Cristo, Verbo eterno encarnado, articuladas em sua única Pessoa. O grande iniciador da controvérsia que levará à convocação do concílio é o sacerdote Êutiques, que objetivando refutar a heresia de Nestório, cai no erro oposto: o monofisismo. É a partir daí que o concílio de Calcedônia produz uma fórmula dogmática ainda hoje atual. Com efeito, a presente tese, através de uma abordagem histórico-teológica, discorre sobre o tema da cristologia do concílio de Calcedônia partindo da cristologia que lhe é precedente, passando por sua fórmula dogmática até tratar da atualidade do tema no estudo da cristologia contemporânea entre teólogos católicos, protestantes e ortodoxos. / [en] Council of Chalcedon, fourth ecumenical council of Catholic Church, taken place in 451, professes and defines solemnly the Jesus Christ s wide humanity and wide divinity, eternal incarnated Logos, combined in just one Person. The responsible for all the controversy that will be the key to the Council is the presbyter Eutyches, whose ideas to refuse Nestorian heresy fell in the opposite mistake: monophysitism. From that moment on, the Council creates a dogmatic formula, still current. The present thesis, throughout a historical and theological approach, developes the Christology theme of Council of Chalcedon, from preceeded Christology, through its dogmatic formula, until the currency of the theme in the analyzation of contemporain Christology between Catholics theologians, Protestants and Orthodox.

An evaluation of Whittle Communications' Channel One by students and teachersHuffman, Jane Lynne 28 July 2008 (has links)
The purpose of this study was twofold--first was to investigate how the addition of Channel One to the school day influences student interest in current events. Secondly, to determine how teachers integrate the study of current events into the curriculum. A suburban county school division in the western part of Virginia was selected for the study. The population for this study consists of three groups: (1) all teachers on the faculty at the junior high school and senior high school serving as test sites, (2) all eighth grade Civics students at the junior high school test site, and (3) all twelfth grade U.S. Government students at the senior high school test site. Data was collected via two questionnaires. The responses to the questionnaires was tabulated by calculating percentages to provide data on the research questions.
Student relationships considered important to the study were: the differences that exist between students concerning their news habits; opinions about Channel One; reactions to the commercials; and taught and a positive or negative view of the program; the treatment of Channel One in the classroom: and how they judge the quality of the program.
Both teachers and students believe students take a greater interest in current events as a result of watching Channel One. The teachers claim Channel One to be an effective tool for instruction in the classroom. Teachers primarily use Channel One for current events discussions. But few integrate the news and information presented into their lessons. Social studies teachers make much greater use of the program than non-social studies teachers. The study concluded that Channel One is perceived as a success. / Ed. D.

A study to assess the status of the teaching of contemporary issues in secondary social studies classrooms in selected school divisions in the state of VirginiaSellers, James L. January 1984 (has links)
This study assesses the status of the teaching of contemporary issues in secondary social studies classrooms in four southwest Virginia school divisions. One hundred and sixteen secondary teachers in these school divisions were surveyed concerning their attitudes toward contemporary issues and the instruction of these issues in their social studies classrooms. Mean score results show that the issues that teachers perceived to be most significant to humankind were generally those issues that were given more extensive coverage in the curriculum. Teachers were divided when asked what issues would best be covered in each of the four major secondary subject areas. Each subject area was clearly noted for specific coverage of particular issues, with government classes providing the greatest amount of coverage and world history classes the least amount. A variety of teaching strategies, sources of information, and evaluation strategies were implemented in this instruction. Teachers also detailed what they considered to be major sources of support for the teaching of these issues. Finally, while teachers noted that contemporary issues were detailed in their curricula, they perceived limited coordination among teachers in this instruction. They also reported that more coordination among teachers of different secondary social studies courses should exist. / Doctor of Education

This empirical study is concerned with the extent to which news announcements affect the performance of common equity securities of oil and gas producing companies. The market effects of news announcements are considered to be of importance in resolving two issues. One concerns financial statement disclosure and the second concerns examination of prior oil and gas industry-related accounting research. This dissertation assumes capital market efficiency and addresses two research questions: do news announcements concerning activities of nonintegrated oil and gas producing companies affect the companies' common stock prices, and are announcements concerning nonintegrated oil and gas companies' financial, personnel, explorational, and developmental and operational activities used equally by investors in their decision-making?

Kerhartová, J.: Czech grotesque /Graduation thesis of the post-Bachelor study programe/ Prague 2012 - Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, department of Art, 81 pages This work is oriented as a theoretical study with research aim. It's focused on analysis of the phenomenon of Czech Grotesque and it's causality as a wide cultural - social problem. We use qualitative research methods and research design by The Grounded Theory, authors Strauss - Corbin. Main theme of this study is to investigate possibilities about didactic use of this topic in art education at grammar school. We reflect contemporary trends in art education in czech education curriculum - methods of constructivist pedagogy and discursive analysis. Important part of this work is research probe leading to find out student's pre- concepts about Czech grotesque. At the end, we construct resulting theory which is grounded on our previous research.
