Oslabení nezávislosti soudnictví a vliv státní správy na soudní rozhodování v letech 1948 - 1953 / The weakening of the independence of the judiciary and influence of the state administration on judicial decisions in the period of 1948 - 1953

Havel, Ladislav January 2013 (has links)
This thesis is focused on the performance of judicial power in Czechoslovakia in the period of 1948 -- 1953, that is characterized by almost unlimited influence of the ruling party, the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, on the entire society. It was associated with a destruction of division of power in the state and with intentional limitations of the independence of judiciary. The aim of the work is to identify and analyse particular components of a specific mechanism that was introduced to enable to influence the judiciary decisions according to power and political interests of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia through administrative bodies, especially Ministry of Justice. For this purpose fundamental changes of the legislation, personnel and also organizational changes in the judiciary were carried out.

Zapomenutá propaganda. Analýza dokumentárního seriálu Kronika našeho života / Forgotten propaganda. An analysis of the documentary series Kronika našeho života

Pružinová, Kristýna January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on the qualitative analysis of selected episodes of the documentary series Kronika našeho života, which is considered to be one of the greatest propaganda television works at that time of producing. Its forty episodes were originally broadcasted on the first channel of the Czechoslovak Television from April until June 1985. Due to the significant extent of all the episodes, this thesis only focuses on ten. Namely the episodes about the following years: 1945, 1948, 1953, 1956, 1964, 1968, 1969, 1977, 1982 and 1984. The objective of this thesis is to find out which propaganda techniques were used and how they differed in the selected episodes. The analysis works with nine propaganda techniques drawn out by an American sociologist Alfred McClung Lee and maps them in the selected episodes. Furthermore, in order to describe the media image of the series at the time of its broadcasting, the thesis focuses on the analysis of selected Czechoslovakian periodicals. Specifically on the weekly newspaper Týdeník Československá televize and three daily newspapers - Rudé právo, Lidová demokracie and Svobodné slovo. Moreover, the analysis is accompanied by an interview with a Czech director and screenwriter Miloslav Kučera, who studied Kronika našeho života in the past. The theoretical...

Intelektuální dějiny českého reformního komunismu 1968 - 1990 / Intellectual History of Czech Reform Communism 1968 - 1990

Andělová, Kristina January 2021 (has links)
The main topic of the dissertation is the development and changes in the political thinking of Czech reform communism from 1968. While in the 1960s reform communism represented the dominant intellectual and political current, after the military invasion in August 1968 it gradually disappeared from the public discourse and was later completely suppressed by normalization propaganda and labeled as "counter- revolutionary" and "right-wing opportunist" ideology. The central questions of the thesis explore the changes that the political project of reform communism underwent during the twenty-one-year normalization period and the shifts that took place in the "horizon of expectation" of the Czechoslovak socialist opposition in the context of the intellectual and political changes of the 1970s and 1980s. The aim of the thesis is to explain the political perspectives of reform-communist intellectuals in the Czechoslovak opposition after 1968. They represented an important part of both domestic and especially exile opposition, which formed around the journal Listy. Some of them also played an important role in the creation of Charter 77 and its legalistic criticism. Nevertheless, their story does not fully fit into the traditional narrative of Czechoslovak dissent, as they never completely parted ways with...

Přechod k demokracii v Československu v roce 1989 z hlediska teorie tranzice / Transition to Democracy in Czechoslovakia in 1989 from a Transition Theory Perspective

Mandíková, Darina January 2008 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Transition to Democracy in Czechoslovakia in 1989 from a Transition Theory Perspective" is an analysis of the Czechoslovak transition to democracy in the year 1989. The author analyses the character of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia and the further development of the country after the year 1989 dealing with some of the more general politological aspects such as the strategies of the participants, analyses of the most important agents and factors of the change, etc. Therefore, various politological theories are introduced in the theoretical part (theory of non-democratic regimes, theory of transition, used theories by Juan J. Linz, Carl J. Friedrich, Alfred Stepan, Samuel Huntington and of other relevant authors). The theories are later applied to the Czechoslovak communist regime and to its transition to democracy. The diploma thesis focuses on the application of the theories of transition on Czechoslovakia with regards to the number of transitions. The work aims at explaining that more transitions took place in Czechoslovakia - not only the political one, but also the economic and nationalist, the latter leading to the Czechoslovakian split. Therefore, the last part of the diploma thesis deals with the development of the Czech-Slovak relationship; the link between the...

Uvolňování československé kultury 50. a počátku 60. let v obraze mladé generace aneb nám budou patřit šedesátá! / Cultural melting in Czechoslovakia in the late fifties and early sixties in the view of young generation: the sixties are ours!

Černý, Lukáš January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the beginnings of the release of culture in the period of political- cultural melting in Czechoslovakia in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Cultural loosening has been evident since the second half of the 1950s and will be demonstrated on the example of Czechoslovak film, in which the dynamics of changes in Czechoslovak culture were very obvious. The main focus of my thesis will be the depiction of the young generation and the way their image is transformed and developed on screen, and I will not forget to mention the social critique and satire in the film, which also plays an irreplaceable role in the process of cultural melting. The aim of the thesis is to show that the power of the young generation has become a driver of cultural change and youth itself became a symbol of cultural melting, which I will demonstrate on selected film examples, which will reach the 1960s. The sixties became a symbol of the rebellion of the young generation and its heyday in the arms of Czechoslovak culture. Keywords The cultural melting, fifties, sixties, the young generation, czechoslovak film, view of youngs, Czechoslovakia
