Institucionální předpoklady transformace československé ekonomiky v 90. letech 20. století / Institutional prerequisites for the process of transformation of Czechoslovak economy in the 1990s

Nikodym, Lukáš January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to analyze institutional prerequisites for the process of Czechoslovak transformation in the beginning of 1990's. Using the standard theoretical framework of institutional economics and Svetozar Pejovich's interaction thesis shows the transformation process as a part of continuous institutional evolution. The analysis of institutional environment is aimed on the activity of organizations which are seen as a source of institutional change and the pressure from the exogenous institutional framework. Long-run development of endogenous institutions shows the creation of collectivist structure of Czech society. This fact, combined with the process of creation of secondary laws, shows the inappropriately chosen strategy of transformation.

Ostalgie v české společnosti / Ostalgie in Czech society

Sahánková, Barbora January 2011 (has links)
This thesis focuses on phenomenon "ostalgie" in current society in Czech Republic. I will analyze the attitude of contemporary witnesses to the period of sixties in 20th century in Czechoslovakia and try to clarify whether their potential nostalgic feelings are based on rational facts (better standard of living, working conditions, social security etc.) or whether they are caused by subjective perception of the past in connection with aging. In the first part of my thesis I will explain the ways how this "ostalgie" occurs in life of former GDR citizens. Then I will transfer those individual aspects to the environment of Czech society and analyze them in more detailed way. The thesis will be based on unpublished sources, followed by monographs and special studies of Czech, German and English origin, by use of the methods of oral history, social history and the history of everyday life.

Fabešová, Iveta January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to capture the view of the first generation of skateboarders on the emergence and development of skateboarding in Czechoslovakia in the 1970s and 1980s. The research will be based on two important pillars, i.e. the explanation of the contemporary context in Czechoslovakia, with an overlap into the history of skateboarding in the USA and the qualitative method of oral history that I will use in the second pillar of the research to capture witnesses' memories. Half-structured interviews with 6 narrators, i.e. representatives of the first skateboarding generation, will be carried out within the oral history method. The source of the research will be based on interviews, scholarly literature, period articles from newspapers and periodicals and, last but not least, historical materials such as photographs or videos for a comprehensive study of the subject.

Humor jako zrcadlo politické reality: Protikomunistický humor v Sovětském svazu a v Československu ve srovnávací perspektivě / Humor as a Mirror of Political Reality: Anti-Communist humor in the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia in comparative perspective

Zadoyan, Arevik January 2020 (has links)
Humor as a Mirror of Political Reality: Anti-Communist humor in the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia in comparative perspective Author: Arevik Zadoyan Supervisor: Janusz Salamon, Ph.D. Academic Year: 2019/2020 Abstract Humor is an important part of our daily lives though sometimes it is overlooked by historians and those studying politics. This thesis explores anti-communist jokes in the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia in order to answer the question of whether or not humor is able to accurately mirror the political reality of a given country. After an extensive research, this thesis supports the argument that political humor in the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia provided an accurate description of the regime, meaning jokes were not only meant to humor the audience but they were also informative and touched upon questions such as foreign policies, domestic life, ethnic and religious issues, personality cults of their leaders, propaganda and censorship, and much more. But even though both countries had anti-communist jokes, some characteristics (e.g., context, form, length) varied. Furthermore, since jokes are time specific, the pattern of differentiation is also present chronologically.

Odchod sovětských vojsk z území Německa, Československa a Polska / The Withdraval of Soviet troops from territory of Germany, Czechoslovakia and Poland

Kosová, Jana January 2012 (has links)
The partial withdrawal of Soviet troops from Central Europe was a part of the process of reconstruction of the Soviet Union which was begun by the reforms of Mikhail Gorbachev. The Soviet Union in the second half of the 1980's took the decision to reduce the number of its military troops positioned outside the territory of the Soviet Union. However, the reduction did not automatically account to a complete withdrawal of Soviet troops. This dissertation is pursuing the withdrawal of the Soviet army from the territory of Germany, Czechoslovakia and Poland in the years 1989 - 1994. The change of regimes in the respective states led to the fact that the matter of Soviet troop withdrawal was a bilateral and multilateral affair rather than a unilateral act of the Soviet Union. This dissertation presents a unique comparison of the withdrawal of Soviet military units from three former satellites of the Soviet Union. It clarifies the reasons of their stay on these territories. It shows the negotiation process of each of the afore mentioned states with Moscow, and observes the coinciding arguments used by the Soviet negotiators and their counterparts. It describes the events surrounding the threat of interrupting the Soviet troop withdrawal. It compares the duration of the transfer of the Soviet army from...
