Van Den Berg, Jan Christoffel 11 1900 (has links)
A distinctive characteristic of the Pentecostal Movement (of which the AFM is a part), formed at the beginning of this century, was the functioning of the pneumatics (the spiritual gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11) in the lives of members and in the liturgy of their worship service. The Charismatic Movement arising in the sixties brought this phenomenon under the attention of the church anew. Historically it seems that the pneumatics were a integral part of the activities of God with his people. Some of the pneumatics were already present in the Old Testament, were seen in the earthly ministry ofJesus, and were distinctive of the apostolic period. In the after-apostolic period there was a marked decline in the appearance thereof From the twelfth century onwards there was an increase in the appearance of the pneumatics that climaxed in the worldwide Pentecostal revival at the beginning of this century. The theoretical theological theory in the AFM presents the ideal that the pneumatics would still be operating, as in New Testament times (i.e. as interpreted by the AFM), in their worship services. An empirical survey with the aid of a situation analysis (yv allace' s model of deductive and inductive reasoning was used), shows that there is a marked difference between ideal and practice - the pneumatics are operating sporadically and on a limited scale in the worship services, whilst the participation of the members and their knowledge in this regard are accordingly limited. An improved practice theory is suggested. It entails an interactive model that shows the interdependency and relation between Christ as head of the church and source of the pneumatics, church members and pastors whose attitude and knowledge in connection with this are of utmost importance, and the place for and implementing of the pneumatics in the worship service. Facilitating this interactive process is the baptism in the Holy Spirit, teaching programmes, and small groups. This practice theory is open for future testing and improvement - this must all lead to the restoring of the functioning of the pneumatics for the edification of the church and the greater glorifying of God. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / Th. The study is constructed from the perspective of the religious praxis. It refers to those activities developed by the Christian churches and institutions which convey creation, liberation and a radical transformation of individual, nature and society. The text tackles the social and cultural history of the country and the history of Cuban Presbyterianism, focusing on the period from 1967 to 2009. It takes into account four specific objectives: investigation of the cultural matrixes that formed the Cuban culture, description of the protestant historical roots and streams within Cuban Presbyterianism until the organization of the RPCC, presentation of the liturgical practices of the RPCC, and construction of guide lines for the celebration of hope throughout an inculturated liturgical praxis. These objectives were accomplished by using a historical method, which investigates events and institutions from the past in order to verify its influences in society, and by means of a bibliographical methodology that is supplemented by an investigation of the field and a questionnaire that covers twelve aspects of liturgy. Among other procedures, five specific actions were developed to the elaboration of the final text: examination of literature produced by Cuban and non Cuban authors related to the theme of this dissertation, organization of the texts, application of the interviews and evaluation of the results. In this thesis the author seeks to provide answers to a particular problem: the society changes, however, the church does not develop an efficient dialogue with it, nor does it follow the social changes that are occurring in its midst. This leads to the question: What can be done so that the Church could adjust its liturgical praxis to the socio-cultural context in which it is acting? The proposals raised at the end are not presented as a rigid pattern, but as a guide or map which must constantly be revised and adapted.

The truth is that religion is not exempt from receiving influences from social and political changes. This research analyzes and compares two moments that Christianity suffered influences from changes that occurred in society. The first moment is based upon the Epistle of Hebrews, in the first century of the Christian age, when it dismembered itself out of the Jewish liturgy and formed a liturgical speech for itself. The other moment is the present day, where the worship services have received strong influences from changes that society has suffered. It is possible in both of these instances to find a struggle between Traditionalism and Modernism, between what is new and what is old, between what is established and what struggles in order to be established / Qual o poder de influência das mudanças sociais nos estilos de cultos?

La vie musicale à la Sainte-Chapelle de Paris aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles : étude du personnel musical / The musical life of the Sainte Chapelle in Paris during the 16th and 17th centuries : study of the chapel musicians

Élissèche, Charles-Yvan 15 July 2015 (has links)
The musical life of the Sainte Chapelle in Paris during the 16th and 17th centuries has not been reassessed since the work of Michel Brenet (1910). The exploitation of sources, development of liturgical studies and advances in musicological research allow for a renewal of our understanding of this church and its music. By founding the Palace chapel, Louis IX established the clergy of the Sainte Chapelle. While monarchy and court abandon this church for the chapel royal, Francis I establishes a correlation between the musical and ecclesiastical staff of the Sainte Chapelle. This interdependence, maintained by the Chapter, results under Louis XIV in an assembly constituted of a majority of musicians. This thesis, based on the systematic study of primary sources, focuses on the clergy and musical activity. A particularity of the Sainte Chapelle is thus revealed: the interdependence of ecclesiastical status and appointment as a musician

From passive to active - active participation of Catholics in celebrating liturgy renewed by II. Vatican Council.

TOMAN, Bohumil January 2013 (has links)
The work deals with active participation of religious people while celebrating li-turgy renewed by II. Vatican council, The whole work is divided into 5 major parts. The history of liturgy is described in the first part of the work. Emphasis is put on the age of Liturgical Movement and following outfall into general reform of liturgy ? the constitution of Sacrosanctum Concilium. The second part deals with the importance of music and language which are necessary condition for active participation. I would like to highlight the transition from latin to local languages after the II. Vatican council. The Church wants the religious people to be active in liturgy and which leads to another part of the work which is dedicated to the services for children and young people. It also considers the beauty and richness of the breviary. A very important term is animation of liturgy which is mentioned in the fourth part of the work. I dedicated the last part of my work is to familirize the readers with efforts in Týn nad Vltavou?s parish to engage the people in liturgy.

Čím přispěla teologie kardinála Schwarzenberga na vatikánských koncilech? / The contribution theology Cardinal Schwarzenberg Vatican Council?

GRONES, Martin January 2014 (has links)
Initial idea of this work: " The contribution theology Cardinal Schwarzenberg Vatican Council? , The de facto theological story that " started " at the September provincial council in Prague ( 1860) , and over the First Vatican Council ( 1869-1870 ) , the place - the fundamental ideas of Cardinal Schwarzenberg - up to II . Vatican Council (1962-1965). We must ask ourselves what was the theology of Cardinal Schwarzenberg exceptional and why has the range and in the decades after the First Vatican Council. These questions and many others began to form this work. Response them in three circuits . The first issue is the milieu of contemporary Czech society, which entails " Czech question" because it has the attributes of the ideas of Jan Hus, who was one of the requirements to be " God's word could freely proclaim," which Cardinal Schwarzenberg sees as one of the keys to their pastoral care to address the overall " religiously sentient inhabitants " to what is now called ecumenism, and the Cardinal called her a contemporary "family faith." So the family home environment to be introduced to the "family environment" of the Church, which "does not divide, but integrates" . The second area is the communion of the Catholic congregation, which already carries specific nature of faith , which gives information on the human , not as individuals , but persons as believers lives and moves "in communion" communion sanctorum "that accompanies the believer personally and for boundaries of the church (the Church). Therefore, even in sacred spaces Divine Liturgy promotes "Discourse in the middle of the Mass," because it helps ensure that a person liturgically activated in "upgrade of Church's thinking" (that later " aggiornamento ") in the world. The third issue is the consistency believer in education as Cardinal Schwarzenberg has a graduate character: discipline, teaching and cultivating. In this characteristic "inculcation" of a person into a "divine milieu" of humanity is in the attributes of participation in "completing the world that God created Undone", as taught by A. Günther , and one has a personal interest in "his physiognomy ." All three themes should help understanding " personal infallibility of the Pope," which is not deistic static, is based on the individual, but carries the story of spiritual formation tradition of the whole Church, in whose center is the Christological fraternity, to which the " indoctrinated " hierarchy of jurisdiction, which cannot be separated from each other, but in accepting the structure of the human being shed on the integral concept of the Catholic Church as organic. Which took place in the contemporary modification to the II. Vatican Council.

Sport jako teologická výzva / Sport as a Theological Challenge

SVOBODA, Vojtěch January 2017 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to describe relationships between spirituality, Christianity and sport in history and present. In the first part the author underlines ritual origins of games and sports in pre-Christian cultures, especially ancient Greece and Rome. Revolutionary Christianity separated physical competition from religious ritual. In Christian author´s (Paul, Tertullian, Basil, John Chrysostom, John Cassian and John Climacus) games rating there is an obvious ambiguity They criticized an idolatric origin and connection with cults. Attributes typical for ancient athlete, self-discipline and perseverance, they remained positive. Athletes will and willingness to overcome obstacles gave some of the Fathers of the Church as an example for spiritual struggle, the term "athlete of Christ" had a strong significance in this context. The historical part contains Thomas´s Aquinas valuation of sport in the form of games. In discussion focused on the assessment of the sinful nature of games Aquinas submitted to the rule of reason. One of the key issues in contemporary theology of sport is introduced on the difference between the theological concepts of contemporary authors Rev Dr Lincoln Harvey and Rev Dr Robert Ellis. Harvey's theory, based on a systematic basis, based on the classical axioms of Christian doctrine. Sport is construed as a "liturgy of our contingency", set in the autonomous space that God lovingly gives his creatures. The consequence of this theory is the denial of the transcendent dimension of sport. Ellis´s theory is based on empirical research conducted among athletes. His attention is focused on efforts to achieve the best possible performance by referring to Irenaeus of Lyon, Maslow and others interpreted as a reflection of God's self-transcendence necessary for the creation of man. Sport according to Ellis in contemporary society fullfil some of the functions previously belonging to organized forms of religion. The final section deals with altered states of consciousness in sports and their relationship to the mystique. The author begins by describing his own experiences that are then interpreted from five points of view (philosophical, theological, phenomenological, transpersonal and skeptical). On this basis, the author formulates his own interpretation of the connection between sport and mysticism, whose findings help to deepen the above discussion and also can help with looking for a solution.

Honra no direito ático / Honor in Attic law

Matheus Pires de Campos Borges Tancredi 10 June 2013 (has links)
The present work examines Attic Law through an axiological perspective. Admits the role of values in forming norms and juridical institutes, focusing in a special value considered to be one of the main forms of excellence in 5th and 4th century: honor. The first part of the work delimits honor, indicating two meanings for the term: a value that the subject has, and the perception of such a value by others. A second part demonstrates the origin of the greek concern with honor and excellence in Homer´s epic poetry, establishing a post for honor in greek axiological rankings. Identifies war as the birthplace of the meanings of honor we discussed, and analyzes the difficult social condition that Draco had to face in its time, related to private revenge, emphasizing it connection with the theme of honor and commenting Draco´s Homicide Law. The third part brings a detailed exam of three of attic law´s institutes related to honor: disenfranchisement, atimía; public service in Athens, liturgies; treatment and punishment of hýbris.
