[pt] Este é um estudo de caso que descreve o processo decisório de uma universidade pública. Tem como referência os cinco modelos da decisão acadêmica - racional, burocrático, político, colegial e anárquico - conforme Chaffee (1983), associados à dimensão didático-pedagógica. O estudo testa ainda o conceito de decisão desenvolvido por Leitão (1991). Os resultados e as análises mostram a presença de todos os fatores analisados (racional, burocrático, político, colegial e anárquico) bem como o fator didático-pedagógico, com diferentes intensidades e, no ponto de vista dos entrevistados, uma nova definição para decisão. / [en] This is a case study that describes a public university decision-making process. It is based on the five models of the academic decision - rational, bureaucratic, political, collegiate and anarchistic - according to Chaffee (1983), associated to the didactic-pedagogical dimension. The study also tests the decision concept developed by Leitão (1991). The results and the analyses show the presence of all the analyzed factors (rational, bureaucratic, political, collegiate and anarchistic) as well as the didactic- pedagogical factor, in different intensities and, in the interviewees point of view, a new definition for decision.
