The nature of those questions, more than the connection they bore upon the field of theoretical knowledge, was already following a different path: which other different therapeutical elements, besides technique and theory, I could be offering in the quality of a psychoanalyst, that could meet the patient s demands? The need for a deep thinking about the other phenomena related to the fact of my being there, offering myself as another possibility of a new experience of relationship, imposed itself, albeit as something apart from the binomial transference-conter-transference. Thence, the attitude and the quality of a psychonalyst s presence and singularity were gradually borne in on me as fundamental themes. Departing from that milestone, in the elaboration of this paper the real person of the psychoanalyst as the nucleus of a therepeutical attitude was placed in central position. The encounter of two human beings in the psychoanalytical setting is given a place in the field of ethics before the technique. To present those notions a discussion about the psychoanalyst s place in the clinical setting is undertaken, and his own way of being included in technique, as a ethical condition. The question I put forward here will be illustrated through a description of a patient s clinical case / Inicialmente faço uma descrição do começo da minha jornada na profissão, apontando quais foram as inquietações e os primeiros interesses suscitados, assim como os autores que já então influenciavam minha reflexão e modo de trabalhar. A natureza de tais inquietações, mais do que dizer respeito ao campo do conhecimento da teoria, seguia em outra direção: quais os outros elementos terapêuticos para além da técnica e teoria que, enquanto analista, eu poderia oferecer, em relação à demanda do paciente? O que se impôs foi a necessidade do aprofundamento da reflexão sobre os outros fenômenos que se referiam ao fato de eu estar ali, me oferecendo como possibilidade de novas experiências relacionais, mas algo fora do binômio da transferência-contratransferencia. Assim a atitude, a qualidade da presença do analista e sua singularidade foram se colocando como temas fundamentais. A partir daí, a pessoa real do analista, como núcleo da atitude terapêutica, passa a ser a questão central da elaboração deste ensaio. O encontro entre dois seres humanos na situação analítica nos coloca no campo da ética, antes da técnica. Para a apresentação destas noções é feita uma articulação sobre o lugar do analista na clínica, seu modo de ser incluído na técnica como a condição ética da situação.
