Recepce díla Lucase Cranacha st. v malířství první poloviny 16. století v Čechách / The Acceptance of Works of Lucas Cranach the Elder in Painting of the First Half of the 16th Century in Bohemia

Hamsíková, Magdaléna January 2011 (has links)
1 Abstract The Acceptance of Works of Lucas Cranach the Elder in Painting of the First Half of the 16th Century in Bohemia The thesis focuses on the personality and works of the Renaissance painter Lucas Cranach the Elder (1472-1553) and the acceptance of his works and works of his workshop in painting in the first half of the 16th century in Bohemia. The art production in Bohemia, analogous to the 15th century, was concentrated in small centres and was mainly directed to the painting of neighbouring, mainly German speaking countries. Traces of Cranach's unmistakable aesthetics could be spotted in the Czech lands from the first decade to the almost seventh decade of the 16th century. The life of Cranach's style was so long because it was prolonged, among others, by his son Lucas Cranach the Younger (1515-1586). We can assert that no other author or his followers was so successful in such a large scale, for such a long period of time nor had customers of broad walks of life as Lucas Cranach the Elder. The reason for this was seen by earlier researchers in mass workshop production and certain "easy acquirement" of his style (Max J. Friedländer) that spread especially from the 1520's outside the borders of the Electorate of Saxony. His works were accepted firstly through his graphic masters, secondly through...

Vliv jezuitského řádu na výchovu v Českých zemích / The Impact of the Society of Jesus on education in The Czech lands

Bulířová, Michaela January 2012 (has links)
Firstly, the present thesis, "The Impact of The Society of Jezus on education in The Czech lands", introduces a person of Ignatius of Loyola, who founded the Society of Jezus, and gives a short overview of events including the establishment of the Society and its expansion mainly in Europe. Concerning this the thesis answers a question of some typical features of The Company. The history of the Society in the Czech lands follows. This chapter also includes some notable Czech members of the Society of Jesus. A view of process of education in the Czech lands introduces a second part of the thesis. In the second part of the thesis there is reflected education though time. There is pointed out the influence of the Society not only on process of school education, but also on process of education in general. However, it is difficult to see all of these in complexity of contemporary education. Moreover, it is not the point of the thesis to cover this complexity of problems of education, so the emphasis is put on some main periods and forms of Jesuits' activities. Considering all of this, of course it is possible to find some disadvantages of their impact on society, but anyway, in this case positive aspects are more noteworthy.

Židé v Habrech / Jews in Habry

Šanca, Filip January 2012 (has links)
The Habry Jewish community is not insignificant, but it draws attention to its hidden importance both in terms of the year of the first appearance of Jews (i.e. 1341) and the people who appeared there. Dr. A. Stránský was born there, the commercial council of August G. Stránský's government came from there; not far from Habry, there was the last Yeshiva in traditional schooling in the Czech Lands, the place where the Habry Jews would go to be educated, and where the later Chief Rabbi R. Feder taught Habry's Jewish children. From the population list we can gather that the community there was not always large. From information on which this study is based, and which relates mostly to the period of the 19th and 20th centuries, that is, the time when Jews enjoyed more freedom in their activities and lives, it is apparent that the elevation of Habry was connected with the Jews who lived there. We should remember a doctor's free medical treatment for poor Jews, the founding of the Werfel and Böhm factory, which provided employment for up to 100 people, help to Jewish businessmen in issuing food stamps when poverty was at large, or the establishment of bus transport until Habry's elevation to the status of a town, and many other matters connected with the lives of the Jews. The Habry Jews were an...

Roudničtí augustiniáni - knihovna a dílo / The Augustinian Canons of Roudnice: Their Library and Writings

Nováková, Adéla January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the library of Augustinan canons in Roudnice nad Labem (Raudnitz in German) and assess its place in late medieval culture in Bohemia. The first chapter surveys the history of the monastery. It was founded by the bishop of Prague, Jan IV. from Dražice, in 1333. The monastery flourished and was supported by the highest ecclesiastical officials, but it was destroyed in 1421 during the Hussite wars; the canons escaped to Germany (Erfurt) and to Poland (Wroclaw, Żagań/Sagan). There is substantial evidence on the history of the monastery in Roudnice; several important documents of the monastery have survived, especially monastic statutes, the necrologium of the monastery and also its cartulary. Then the monastic library is explored. In addition to the manuscripts themselves, there are notes on the books in the necrologium of the monastery and several other indirect sources. Unfortunately it is impossible to reconstruct the entire content of the library of the Augustian canons in Roudnice; nevertheless, over one hundred manuscripts that used to be kept in the library have been identified. These manuscripts are today deposited mainly in the Library of the National Museum and in the National Library of the Czech Republic in Prague. The library of the monastery...
